    @@potatosalad5355 no wonder they work together so well, I see crews that are random guys put together and they walk around not knowing what’s the next task and don’t know what to do. Being able to work like this gets the job done quick! So yes I definitely agree with this comment.

    Always a joy to see a crew that works well together. I'm a retired drywall finisher/plasterer. I had the pleasure of working with a really good crew, we had 3 hanging crews just to stay ahead of us. We often did entire housing developments and had things set up so we could have 4 houses ready to tape/mud in same development, we could4 houses taped/mudded, texture ceilings and have walls ready for paint in a week with just a 3 man finishing crew.

    Used to work siding with my dads neighbor. I remember my first new build mansion job site watching the drywall hangers and finishers work. Most thing i remember is being jealous that they get to work inside while we were freezing our asses off in Michigan winter. No disrespect to hangers but watching professional finishers work in real life was insane. Great work guys. All trades are great and I definitely miss doing mine time to time.

    After a couple of years my batteries on my cordless screwguns, and routers are starting to wear out and because of the price of batteries I've been wondering if it would be better to switch back to corded tools. After watching these guys walk around on stilts dragging those damn cords I'm gonna buy some more batteries. I forgot how much I hate those damn cords. Overall it looks like they did a pretty decent job on the hanging, but they didn't do any prefill on the larger gaps, or on the belly bands which means a high likelyhood of cracks down the road, plus mudding over wet mud is a terrible idea. Regular mud dries through evaporation so if the tape coat is still drying and you put another coat on top bad things happen. I'm calling BS on them doing all that in one day, even with 9 guys.

    I am a hanger not a taper , so i can tell u these guys did a good job hanging . Only problem is you didn't apply glue , the glue literally bonds drywall to the stud . if u knock on a wall that is glued and one that is not there is a big difference , not only that but for ceilings it is vital so it wont crack in time . Second problem is they didnt let tape dry a whole day . Never a good idea to cut corners buddy .

    I was thinking the same thing…where is the glue? The only other thing I don’t understand is it seems that the southern crews put the belly band in and I don’t get it. Start with a rip and you have all bevel to bevel joints. I do have to give it to these guys they work well together only mistake I saw in the video was the fan in one of the bathroom ceilings (router got away) on the guy. It happens though not being critical at all.

    Guys do a great job! But from experience your house is 100% going to cracks. What we do for customs homes we prep it before we even put the tape for any big gaps and to cover the nails they hammer by the joints. But most important is to tape it and let the tape completely dry before floating. That one extra day of waiting for the tape to settle will save you from having the tape start piling off and cracking all over the house.

  • @theman1526

    @theman1526

    2 жыл бұрын

    I was going to say the same thing, I always let my tapes dry before I do 1st coat. Also if you are going to tape and coat atleast prefill it 1st. I prefill butts and large gaps regardless but it's a must you prefill all the flats n butts when doing tape n coats.

    No need to prefill anything. They will probably coat the shrinkmarks similar to how you coat the screws. Do this after what they did here dries and before it’s coated again. Also just for the knowledge of the moisture boards...you don't really need it but like he said if you sale it people are hard to convince you don't need it...i say unless your soaking it or a flood gets in there it's not gonna matter what you use...but just use it around pipes...don't go crazy...it cost more...

    As a 23 year old Caucasian former drywaller i have to say i wish that there were crews like this that i could get on in my area. I worked drywall with my uncles company from the time i was 12 by the time i was 17 i had my own crews and when i was 20 my uncle passed and covid ruined the business im now in erosion control and miss drywall everytime i see it at the sites were servicing
