How To Install Diode in Solar Panel Installation
Ғылым және технология
In This Video You Will Learn The Importance of a Bypass Diode in Solar Panel & Learn How To Connect a Bypass Diode to your Own Solar Cells to Improve The Efficiency of Solar Panel Under a Partial Shading Conditions.
We Will Also See How To Choose a Bypass Diode For Your Application .
Due To The Partial Shading on a Solar Panel Current loss occur ,this loss can be significantly reduced with the help of a bypass diode connected in a parallel to a solar cell .
So When Some Solar cell's are Under Shade Bypass Diode Will Pass The Energy Through Them ,While Without The Bypass Diode Solar Panel Under Shade Will Loose The Energy In the Form of a Heat

Welcome 😁
Thank you for putting this up . I was discussing this problem a couple of days back .
very nice video sir
that is some very good information that i didn't realize thank you very much for sharing it ill be sure to use that trick wen i make another solar powered project.
Great video, great explanation. Hope to have more of these videos.
Thank you Kedar! Blessings brother.
Very simple example yet very instructing. Thank you for sharing. Just to be a bit pedantic: I presume those full size panels will get some cleaning soon and see their output increase by a bit.
I like ur concept.
Very well explained. Truly.
It would be great if you can turn around the cell and show us
If the reverse bypass diodes would have been soldered in , to ensure a good connection, you wouldn't see ANY change in current by shadowing 1, or even 2 cells. Photovoltaic cells are constant current devices, weather they are producing a voltage, or if they're running in reverse bias condition. The whole string only passes the current of the least illuminated cell, unless you install those reverse bypass diodes. Excellent video. I wish manufacturers of panels would indeed install diodes in parallel with each cell, so you lose a couple of cells, rather than a couple of coulombs of cells.

Correction: columns of cells.
Thanks. For people who cant afford much solar, and need heat, they can make a homemade solar air heater (or water heater), and it can make even a thousands watts of free heat when the sun shines, and reduces the cost, plus you don't need firewood. electricity or oil. once its made. But it depends where people live too, sometimes the landlord wont allow different types of constructions.
Great vid
Kedar your a pretty smart person. I wish your accent wasn't so strong. I do understand it is not your fault so please I do not mean to be rude. I like your work and your tutorials are brilliant. I was wondering if it was possibke for you to put sub titles on your videos. It would mean so much to me and to so many of your subscribers. Aswell as it may increase your current subscribers. But keep up the good work my friend. I do appreciate your content. Thank You.
But, Si diodes have a forward voltage drop of 0.65 V. I would lose quite a bit of I had a smaller panel
dear sir, what is different between byepass diode and jump diode? can we see physical byepass diode in solar panels? I am waiting your reply.
If I use my solar cells hooked up to a Pi UPS that also charges a lithium battery does the UPS already have this protection? I'm assuming it does. So I don't need this unless I'm just hooking up the solar panels directly to a battery ? Is my assumption correct?
hey|| nice explaination but tell me one thing that..... what happen if we connect diode in parallel way...in each of the end of solar cell??
Hello sir 160 watt luminous solar me diode kitne ampere ke Lagi Hote Hai...?
normaly solor pannl kisi bhi place per use kr sakte h
I have a MPPT controler for two solar panels connected in parallel- and i was advised to buy a diode for each panel to prwvent for current going back ?! Is that necessary or is he just trying to sell me the diods ? Most solar panels already have a diode in the box behind the panel also the MPPT controlar has a function to prevent the currend going back ..

As far as I know, MPPT charge controllers will not allow reverse current to flow to the PV modules to occur as they disconnect from the PV array if they are not charging(except for their voltage sensor). It would only be an issue if you don't have a charge controller at all between the PV modules and a battery, or a charge controller that did not disconnect the batteries from the PV array when it is not charging. Then you would need just one blocking diode in one of the wires between the batteries and the PV array, or between the charge controller and the PV array if you have a charge controller. The diodes on the PV modules are not there to prevent reverse current in that way, but to allow current to bypass any shaded strings of cells. You can check for reverse current flow at night if you have the skills and knowledge to do so.
What about if I have panels in series and groups of them in parallel? Do I still need a diode for every panel?
How To Guys Great video I have 5 Volt solar panel @ 1amp what kind of diode should I use?
what diode can i use for a 50w solar panel
Did you say positive of diode to positive of cell or should be contrary?. Thks.
please tell me how to know the diode power in function to panel type and watt, amper, volt?,i apreciate if you have one link .for example i want to put in series two panel 2x 150W(or another power)how know to buy witch diode is good?
could give yours a clean and save money on diodes.
With Avasva plans doing something like that was easy.
Where cam we buy these diodes i need few of those 6v diodes
Thnx you teacher
could you tell me type of diod used
Mera solar plate ka connection kharab ho gaya hai Apse salah chahiye thi thoda mil sakta hai kya
Please help, What diode do I use for a 12v 10w solar pannel?

What is value of block diode and bypass diode ?

How to choose the right model of the diode?
i need diode number of 50 watt solar panel, i went to shop they dont know the number
Which multimeter is that? and how much did it cost?

+Kedar Nimbalkar Woah that's expensive...I use a ₹500 one :P. Thanks for the reply.
I know more about diy from Avasva handbooks!
Out put voltage to bta raha multimeter me lekin bulb kyu ni jal raha
why do we not do that from the start. (diodes are pretty cheap.)
the problem is that the by bassed cell we will lose its voltage so we only helped eliminating it to keep current constant
warum ist das so schmutzig bei euch?
correction, the positive side of diode is silver and black side is negative..

absolutely right
For such a small fellas i'd go with 1n5820, it has the absolute lowest forward voltage drop amongst all the schottkys so you'd get more power outta this even on a partial shade. Edit: you cannot say that the diode will work because it has the same forward voltage as the cells.. any diode will work. The forward voltage means = you measure open voltage 2V, diode has lets say 0.5V forward voltage drop, so with this diode you'll have only 1.5V at the output. You just basically said that is the voltage is greater than a forward voltage of the diode, it won't work.. nonsense, you are talking about reverse voltage. If the reverse voltage of the diode is 20V, you cannot put it in series into a circuit that has greater voltage than 20V, diode would burn on trying to block that
If my panels (cells) are connected in parallel, do I still need a bypass diode to continue to conduct electricity? From my understanding, if the panels are shaded in series, the current will be reduced to that shaded cell but I'm not so sure what will happen in a parallel setup. Help?
@DamianRene
7 жыл бұрын
No, in parallel the current is just shared or added as you prefer to say it. So when a parallel cell is shaded, it just don't add its energy to the circuit, but it won'e ever act as a resistance (as it happen when a series cell is shaded)

Silver said is positive and black iz nagitive okkkkkk

Kedar Nimbalkar I want to contact to u.
you will have higher amp but lower volt.... normal phisics. please learn a minimum about electronics... and clean your big panel, bcause you lose most of it power
You also lose power if you DON'T keep the equipment nice and CLEAN. You have to clean them a have a routine too

Then make a video on cleaning panels and wait for the comments or stfu
Hindi nhi aati?
Are angrej mat ban Hindi mai bol
It's pronounce "positive" not "positu"
All wrong !!!!! At 2.53 Other way around negative of the diode goes to the positive of the solar cell for bypass diodes on solar panels. Not as said in this video "positive to positive and Negative to Negative"
The silver side of diode is positive and you told it negative first take correct knowledge and then make videos
