    Great videos! I see with adding these lights you spliced the positives together into one large wire as opposed to your original compartment lights where you had individual positive wires to a bus bar, so my question is why did you not just run separate positive bus bars for the new lights. which method would you recommend?

  • @BassBrothersFishingDMV

    @BassBrothersFishingDMV

    2 жыл бұрын

    It all depends on the application. In some cases it makes sense to join two or three wires into one and in other cases you may use a buss bar to bring several wires to one lead. In the end I use both depending on the situation. Both are effective

    How many small LED lights can you hook up on one wire? I have the smaller LEDs that I want to run to my compartments and for deck. Can these be put on one switch and circuit? Also what fuse should be used? It is 12 volt battery on boat.

  • @BassBrothersFishingDMV

    @BassBrothersFishingDMV

    Small LEDs don't draw allot of power so you should be fine. A 5 Amp fuse will do the trick. You may be able to go with a lower Amp fuse if the manufacturer recommends it.

  • @BassBrothersFishingDMV

    @BassBrothersFishingDMV

    2 жыл бұрын

    No issues at all. All lights are still on like day one. Not sure if that's be a use I added silicone or not. The only change I noticed is the actual light strip has a yellow tint to it from being exposed to the sun. The lights themselves work perfectly fine. Very bright and white. Funny thing is the yellow tint to the strip actually makes the light strips blend in better with the color of the boat lol.

    @@BassBrothersFishingDMV Sweet, good to know. I'm thinking the issues the others had were just bad grounds. Love the detail you put into your build. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi, how do you charge the batteries? How much power all those lights use from DC? Thanks

    In general LEDS use little power so I don't anticipate having any issues. They're connect to a 27DC deep cycle battery which has more than enough power. I use and on-board charger to charge all the batteries

    After some use with new lights did you think the side rail lights were angled too high facing your eyes? Or did it work out perfectly

    So far I've used the deck lights only to put stuff away at night. I'll do some actual night fishing in a couple weeks so I'll know more at that point. I don't anticipate the lights being too bright or shining too high because they are on a dimmer switch. I do like the fact that there is a slight angle up so I can take some cool night shots.

    Why haven’t they made led strips that don’t require strips or instructions. I just want to take the red and black wire connect it to something without tons of other stuff, no switches

    I know you mean well, but the worst thing you ever want when you're out on a boat at night is rows of white light shining up at you, robbing you of night vision, robbing you of the pleasure of adjusting to ambiant light, posibly even spoiling it for any boater nearby. Even a stern 180° white running light should be shielded from your view in the cockpit.
