How to install coaxial car speakers | Crutchfield

Ғылым және технология

You can really improve the sound in your car when you replace your car speakers. The build quality, design, and materials used in aftermarket speakers far exceeds those that come installed from the car factory.
Think about it - car manufacturers need to keep costs down, and they do so at the expense of clear, detailed sound. It's understandable, and manufacturers generally manage to put in a sound system that is adequate at best. A speaker swap is just what you need to take that first step toward excellent-sounding music in your car.
Installation is straightforward, often requiring just a few tools, and you'll be glad you did it when you turn on your stereo and hear what you've been missing.

    LMAO right? I'm watching this like, that's it? Half the video was dedicated to removing the door panel. If this goes anything like my recent stereo install, this is going to take me 2 weeks and a few additional parts because it's never this easy

    I actually think it's important to do videos for installs like these, most people throwing in a complicated stereo aren't going to have ahard time finding a tutorial, but someone who knows nothing but has blow speakers, actually will find literally zero other videos that are helpful in the way this video is. It is the very point of these videos, just show someone how easy it is and it gives them confidence to do it themselves

    I have 6.5 speakers all around my 2000 tacoma... what do i need to buy to make my 2x 4" speakers fit? an adapter of some sort?

  • @crutchfield

    @crutchfield

    We do not have any adapter brackets for installing 4" speakers in the stock locations of your Tacoma. The larger 6.5" are the better option anyway as they should provide a wider frequency response than the smaller 4" models.For additional assistance and personalized recommendations, feel free to contact us directly: bit.ly/2jBGHPp Hope that helps!--Crutchfield

    If you don't have a wiring harness you would just splice together the factory wiring with the new speakers. You can use some wire connectors like these to make it easier: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYTVc290/p_669PP502/Posi-Products-Car-Speaker-Connectors.html

    How can I replace my component speaker setup with coaxial? Should I disconect the tweeter and mount speaker instead of bass speaker?

  • @crutchfield

    @crutchfield

    5 жыл бұрын

    If the component tweeter is blown or just sounds bad, yes, disconnect it. If it's still working, you may be able to incorporate it with the new full-rage but will likely need to add a high-pass filter for it. Hi, I installed C1-690TX in my charger. The front right is lower than the front left. Even when I fade to the left I can still hear some sound in the right speaker. How can I fix the problem I’m having. Is it a problem with my receiver outputs, or my amp?

    @@crutchfield I'm applying sound deadening in the 2002 Mustang right now. It already has some sound deadening installed. But no factory deadener or foam on the OEM speakers. I guess it doesn't matter if you use sound deadening or foam between the speaker backside and the mount or adapter plate (?). I'm not sure if the FAST foam would be worth the expense. I have 2 midrange/woofer and 2 tweeters in the front and 2 coaxial 2-way speakers in the rear deck. I've applied deadener to the inside of the doors also along with the trunk. All rhe speakers, except for the tweeters, have sound deadening between them and the mount instead of foam. I still have some vibration/rattle with deep bass. I'd like to get the road noise down quite a bit more but I'm not sure if I have to go all out and deaden every square inch. I plan to do my 2014 Xterra next.

    So I feel like an absolute idiot, I managed to remove my entire door panel and got everything down to the bare bone of the door. I unplugged the panel and the speaker (all easy enough) but when I went to mounting the speaker I got totally dumbfounded and I know once the answer is stated I'm going to feel like an absolute idiot, but let me make it as simple as possible so there's no way to mess it up. I have the brackets being that my Polk speaker has 4 main screw holes while my car door has 3 so, thankfully Crutchfield gave the mounting brackets with my purchase (for free I might add, which is awesome) but there's no general directions on how to mount the speaker with the bracket to the door. Honestly I would assume anyone could figure out how to match up some screw holes from the speaker to the bracket to the door... but unless I'm just not looking at it properly I don't see how to mount the three parts properly. So I mounted the bracket to the door without any speaker attached with the small screws (seemed like the proper move) then I assume mount the speaker to the bracket. But the "holes" are more like slots that aren't actual holes... This is where it could get confusing and maybe I just shouldn't be deep into the beers but I can't figure out how to mount the speaker to the bracket in a secure, proper manner, being that the 'slots' (since they aren't actually holes) aren't 100% stable. I guess I'll probably just check with a tech tomorrow about how to do so, but just wish there was some kind of video or even instructions on how to use the brackets. At least I haven't seen any through my searches. Any insight would be appreciated. I'm new to this if no one could tell... :D still 100% satisfied with everything so far. Only a small speed bump in my installation, everything else has been extremely easy to process. Thanks.
