To locate the position of the locating pins in the rear of the slide, just install the drawer and lightly slams it a few times and the pins will leave an interference mark. Then drill your hole. No need for an expensive jig.

From, “the only video you’ll need to see”, I’ve appreciated this video for reference on numerous occasions. Although I can’t keep up with all of the latest Festool tools and accessories featured in more recent videos, I still find the work assembling table and awesome features entertaining to watch. After nearly a year after ordering the Blume undermount drawer slides, I’m finally able to complete the cabinets with drawers.

This is the best instructional video on KZread. You will understand if you have looked at Blum's instructions for glides or hinges. Blum should leverage this video.

Fantastic video, Jason! So I bought the 563H slides at the beginning of February and overthought them forever. I read and re-read the installation instructions. I’m so pumped that I knew every single thing you talked about. I’m a much more hands on learner and so once I just got started, it was easier to conceptualize. I did the dry fit in my cabinet as well before assembling the drawer boxes. Great job on this video. I’m sure it will help tons.

Great video! Don't forget about the side-to-side adjustment wheel below the hook on the back of the right runner. This allows the rear of the drawer to be adjusted in the same direction as the front so the drawer runs parallel in the opening. Also, if you're having front locking device engagement issues (i.e. the drawer isn't "clicking in" like it should), check your material thickness. Most 1/2" plywood is actually 12mm and this causes your runner to "stretch" further than it was designed. The quick fix for this is to make your box 1/8" shorter than the standard runner length (20-7/8" for a 21" runner) or add an 1/8" spacer between your locking devices and drawer sub-front.

What a great tutorial. I got a built in job and I’m trying these out for the first time. I really stepped in it this time. That’s a lot to keep track of compared to conventional tracks. Well, that’s my fault for not researching things before I offer them. Nothing else to do but follow through. I took a lot of notes am I’m super happy I found this video to clarify things as I go.

Thanks, this is very helpful. I'm going to use these slides for shelves that slide out (don't want side mounts, don't want to give up the space). The instructions are very centric to a drawer, but now seeing how they go on I know how to adjust for a flat shelf. You rock!

The rockler jig is what i use everytime i install undermounts. I use K&V slides as its more cost effective, and they work just as good.

Great video. This is the second time I have watched as I have been thinking seriously about undermount versus side mount. I make my drawer boxes with dovetails and I know that I'll have to make some adjustments as a result, but nothing serious. Thanks again.

This video is very useful and your effort in making it, appreciated. Although I studied the Blum documentation, this video put everything into context and made planning and ordering easier. The only thing I couldn't work out is if the slides will work with 18mm drawer sides. This is what all the main panels of the wardrobe are cut from.

I see another Festool Junkie like myself! Thanks for the best instruction I've found for these slides. I've used side mounts on projects until now, but was intrigued with these, so decided to use them first on a nightstand I'm building for myself first. Thanks for the very clear examples and explanations!

Really helpful, I know they are more expensive but your helpful advice has encouraged me to try them on my next build.

Great video. Easy to follow and makes lots of sense. These Blum undermount soft close slides are so smooth and require very little opening force to overcome the soft close feature (damping force). It's what everyone is asking for these days. Thanks!

I decided to build a keyboard shelf underneath a standing desk that I made. Found the two drawers with the Blum sliders already installed at Habbitat and searched all over KZread to find out how to install them. Much appreciated, sir.

Great video . Just two things I thought people might find helpful. First the hook on the back of the slides is also an anti tip feature for the drawer. So make sure the tabs are inside the holes. Second if you have to remove the drawer box that has the drawer front attached you will actually have to reach underneath and pull the slide towards the clip till it clicks. Due to the slide being set back 1/8”. If you just push it in it won’t click and the drawer will most likely fall forward when extended.

@@dporrasxtremeLS3 thanks I have had a few service calls because someone drawer wouldn’t work right and that’s all it was . No one showed them how to put it back and they were used to the old slide and rails. I now show every customer so I don’t have to go back after they get that ladle out lol

Jason, thanks. Great video. This is now my new "try" thing.

Built a MCM TV console for my son from solid white oak. The grain on the ends and dividers is vertical. To avoid screwing the steel runners to the oak which may expand and contract, I used the brackets in the rear. They can "telescope" in and out if necessary. Over thought the installation for a long time, but once you get your head wrapped around them, these are wonderful slides.

Great video 👍. I just finished building 3 cabinets that will install under a mobile work table. 9 drawers total. I used side mount slides. Th se are better and I wish I had seen this before. Next cabinet is going to be a built in for under my SaWStop and it will use these 😁
