Best mobility and independence videos I've come across.

My wife and I r looking for safety options for our bed. Ran into this video by accident. Very Well informed by the caretaker presenting this product. I love the clarity of the information. We will be considering these products as an option.

@@EquipMeOT I would be very interested in your recommendations. My mom has Parkinson's and I need to get a bed rail. She has a craftmatic bed with just a mattress and bed frame. I can't seem to find a bed rail that will work with her bed. Any suggestions you may have will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If it is an adjustable bed, you might want to consider a stander safety pole. I have a video about it and have used it in similar situations to your moms as it can be positioned close to the edge of the bed or even right up against the edge and doesn’t rely on the bed itself for mounting. They’re a bit more pricey but very practical. Here’s a link to the video (

@@EquipMeOT Thanks so much for your guidance and direction on this! I watched your video and talked it over with my brother and we are going to go with your suggestion of using the safety pole because the bed is a craftmatic adjustable bed with a mattress and a bed frame (instead of box spring mattress). I will let you know how it works. Thank you because the only bed rails out there was for beds with two mattresses.

What type of bed rail would you recommend to be used with an adjustable bed, ie: hospital style bed?

My elderly father is going to be staying in temporary housing following a fire in my parents apartment complex and the bed in the house they will be staying in is low to the ground. I think it’s a platform bed. I’m worried that he will have a little trouble getting in and out of bed. Do you know if this would work on a low platform bed like that?

Will this work on a bed that has electric adjustable up and down feature?

Out of the box instructions did not indicate to place the bed rail towards the pillow. I put it in the middle of the bed and was ready to return it thinking it more of a hindrance potentially trip someone up , complete game changer moving it towards the pillow end.

I wonder if something like this would be more helpful. I really like the tension poles like in the video below. It’s nearly impossible to find a bed-based rail for an adjustable bed, so something that positions next to the bed works best. I’ve also done fold down grab bars mounted to the wall at the head of the bed and floor mounted support poles. My Favorite No Drill Grab Bar! | The Stander Security Pole with Curved Grab Bar

True. Fall prevention rails don’t work well on most non-hospital style adjustable beds 😕

@@EquipMeOT It seems getting a memory foam mattress might be a course of action. At least a senior would sink into the mattress enough to perhaps prevent an accidental fall.

I’m really grateful you’re making videos like this, but you do realize younger people also require safety and mobility aids sometime, don’t you? Disability doesn’t discriminate based on age.
