Very good work man! Saw your other videos, and understood that you are very good at electrical things. So, here's my question. I have made a retrofit to my '94 e36 coupe, and installed a one touch open sunroof. So my car is zvm and still uses comfort relay. I made some connections, and now the sunroof works, but my windows won't. If i remove the comfort relay, the windows work, but my sunroof won't. It's a lil bit annoying to insert and take-off the relay every-time I want to open the sunroof. If you have any idea of what it might be, I would appreciate any help! Thank you!
Thanks for the video, I just did my 92 318is from 7 to 18 buttons, I only did the first two pins for power and ground, only wanted the clock and the temp to work, did not get the turn signal lever.
I have E36, but mine doesn't have air conditioning. I would like to see your tutorial on how to upgrade it to the digital air conditiong, and everything needed for that upgrade. Nice work here!

Where did you get the new plug with all the connectors pins already on there? Or where can I find the pins to plug into the harnesses in the car? I have the 18 button obc and the new plugs but they are short I have to add wires and ends.

Hi! You need to search on Ebay, or any other market place, for a seller supplying the OBC directly with white connector X1071 with full wiring. (i.e. correctly removed from the wiring harness of the donor car). In this case, you will get the end connectors, and you can simply retrofit it to your car as described in this video. (installed like this from factory, fully OEM) If you got only wires pigtail with your connector, you need to extend each cables and directly solder them to the locations specified in this video. (or extend each cables with the appropriate end connectors .. you will find tons of similar connectors on an old wiring harness)
Hey. Great DIY, btw. Although, I've ran into a dead end. I have a so called 'gong' included in the kit. You have any idea where should I wire that too? And could you especially give some more details of changing parameters in NCS for correct OBC fuel infos? Thanks!
@mrnoname35
4 жыл бұрын
Hi! If your car is already equipped with a smaller OBC, you have already the GONG. It's located under the steering wheel. To program the OBC to the car's specs, you should have a look at another video on my channel "How to code hidden feature". The procedure will be similar, except that you will be changing the parameters in the "BCV" module. Before doing that you need to modify the ZCS code, otherwise the "BCV" module will not be available in the list of modules in NCSExpert. Alternatively, there is also a fully automated procedure to program the "BCV" in DIS, which is doing the above steps (ZCS change + BCV coding to your car's specs). Important remark: you need an old laptop with RS232 port & ADS interface.

The stalk I have has a brown/red wire on pin 11 switch seems to go to the horn according to the bentley schematics. On pin 10 there is a blue/green wire that goes to some block but is not attached to the stalk itself. However there are 2 wires coming out of the stalk itself on that connects to 'pin 9 on the block' which is where the brown ground wire from pin 1 ends, the other goes to 'pin 11 on the block' and when the button on the stalk is pushed there is connectivity between those 2 wires (multimeter). Can I just solder that blue/green wire to that 'pin 11 on the block' and make things work?

Hi! You are making things complex, but it's fairly easy. You simply need to wire PIN 4 of X1071 to PIN 10 of X32 connector, like described in the video. Once done, the new "BC" stalk can simply be plugged, there is no other wiring changes to be done here.

@@mrnoname35 I think you misunderstood. It's hard to explain without being able to post a picture. What I meant is this, on pin 10 of the stalk side (female) of X32 there is a blue green wire that goes to some gray connector and is NOT connected to the stalk. However there is a solderpoint on the block of the stalk itself (where all the wires from the female side of X32 go) that gives continuity to the brown ground wire (pin 1) when the BC button on the stalk is pressed. Via the 'Timer' button, it's possible to set a timing where the ventilation will turn on. For example, at 5 p.m just before you leave work and you want to enter in a fresh car at 5.15 pm. - For the E36 without this feature, there is no cable in Pin 14.
