How to Install an LRT 3" to 1" Leveling/Lift Kit on a 2017 Toyota Tundra

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This video shows how to install Low Range Off-Road's LRT 3" to 1" Leveling/Lift Kit on a 2017 Toyota Tundra. These instructions apply to 2007 to 2017 4 Wheel Drive models and can also be used for 2 Wheel Drive models as well. Unlike other lifts available on the market, our design is easier to install and preserves the original ride quality for a fraction of the cost. For more information, visit us at www.lowrangeoffroad.com or by calling 801-805-6644.

Put this kit onto my 2007 Tundra today and just let me say..... Wow! I was amazed at how easy the installation was. Sure it took me and my brother in-law a few hours but we’re not professional and we wanted to make certain we got it all correct. I was blow away by the step by step instructions I got with the kid from the website. Do your self a huge favor and go get this kit and then download the step by step instructions. Not one step was left out.... Excellent work! I’ve since gone back to Low Range Off-road to see what other products they might have that I’d like for my Tundra! Thanks guys! Keep up the great work!

How is the ride after the lift, any usual noise or rough ride? I want to do the same with my 2007 4x4 but I’m concerned the ride will be compromised. I like the factory ride.

Do you notice a large departure from the norm in the angle of the front wheel axle CVT joints. Looking at any 4x4 Tacoma the lower body line rides above the centerline of the wheels, That is the look i want for my Tundra.

FINALLY got these REMOVED after having them on for one year... I had no idea what a severe downgrade a spacer was, I just thought it was not the best ride quality. The reality is spacers REMOVE suspension travel. Spacers cause widespread damage across the board. Your UCA will rub the spring, you will loose droop articulation, you over extend the UBJ operation angle, cant reach your bump stops, the strut becomes your suspension limiter, either breaking the strut or its mount. DO NOT PUT ANY SPACER ON YOUR STRUT! Not just this one! If you need lift you MUST buy longer struts or you are downgrading and lowering the performance of your suspension. Fitting a high performance off road tire becomes useless when you have a downgraded suspension with 4" of articulation and bottom out on your STRUT MOUNT!!!!

Yes, I’ve owned Tacoma’s and tundras for along time. Theses spacers will give you some extra ride hide. They eliminate almost all your down travel and put your cv shafts at angles that wear them prematurely. The last Tacoma I put these on, in 120,000 miles it went through 2 sets of cv’s and 2 sets of lower ball joints and 3 set of uppers. The tundra may have a little stronger components, but you still will not get the full service life out of your front end components.

Booo...avoid spacer lifts people. Coilover shocks like Bilstein 6112 is the right way to do it.

I'm a newbie: Why avoid spacer lifts?

@@EverythingisFire A spacer kit is generally a steel spacer that bolts to the top of the strut assembly. The spacer doesn't pre-load the spring, but instead, it sits like a crown on top of the upper strut plate, putting space between the strut frame mount and the strut itself. Making a strut longer on any IFS vehicle is a bad idea. Increasing the struts length, and putting more space between the upper and lower control arm throws geometry way off. At static ride height, a vehicle wearing a leveling kit sits in a position where the suspensions down travel travel is at 2" or 3" (depending on the kits lift.) This puts the cv joints for the transfer case out of the normal operating range and angle they should function at, as well as causes the power steering rack (if applicable)to have poor tie rod operating angles. A tie-rod that used to operate nice and parallel to the ground, is now working at an angle. With the kit installed, allowing full articulation of the front end causes even bigger problems. Now that the strut is displaced 2-3" lower in the strut tower/frame mount, it now fully extends too long for the other front end components, causing over extension of the cv joints, tie rods, and upper control arms. Ive noticed that this translates into the upper control arm drooping down to the point where it swings into the struts coil spring, where it rests. This makes the upper ball joint the suspension limiter, instead of the strut. I can only imagine the shortened life the ball joint will suffer with a leveling kit setup. Leveling kit companies such as "ready lift" and "truxxx" to name a few state that "our kits will not alter the factory ride feel" Although this statement is true, because the strut assembly's shock remains unchanged, it is doing a number on your front end.
