I gotta say, this video was very simple yet informative. No fluff, the camera angles help those who are more visual. There are way too many videos that are drawn out and the camera is like 5ft away and you're left guessing as to which button you need to push. The close up shots definitely help first time parents. Kudos my man.

Few things: Don't forget if you use the seat belt option you have to side the lap belt in the crack between the orange piece and the gray part of the base. It helps with the wiggling. If you use the latch option, and your bubble is NOT center press the orange buttons on both sides of the base. This will raise the base to level it out. (Something I also missed in the instructions with my first girl!) Congrats on everyone's babies!!

Thanks for making this instructable video however you missed a very important step. If you use the shoulder strap to latch in the base, then there is a spot where the shoulder strap gets LOCKED into the base as a last step.

Great instructional video! I have the KeyFit35 and the base was very wobbly after my first go at it. After getting inside the backseat of the car, placing my foot on the base, and pulling hard on the cord the base isn’t going anywhere! Thank you!!

When you used the seat belt method. Put your knee or foot on base after you click the belt and pull tight. On the sides it has a slit shoulder belt to go into. It won't budge if done correctly.

@@Food-is_Life the base method isn't sketchy. Do as he shows and pull it tight, but take the shoulder strap and pull it into slit for the shoulder belt on the side. It shouldn't budge.

Great video. My preference is the latch as it feels more secure, but my middle seat only offers the lap belt option. Is there a lock off feature of some sort for the lap belt option like you have in some car seat like the doona?

Based on my experience with the Honda Fit there isn't much room riding shotgun without a car seat.

I'm a car seat technician and you did a darn good job Dave. Great job and I'm glad you used the latch because that was easier for you and a safer install! Great job!

@@josephperez7945 failing to read the instructions for the child seat and the car manual he tested the tighness wrong it is to be done at the belt path he didn't have the LATCH stored with seatbelt install. It is important to see a certified car seat technician to check intall

@@1776Blue he never tightened the latch or seat belt the first time on either. He did only on the final time. Nothing wrong with that. If someone didn’t reach out to a professional for proper installation that is a fail on them. Safe kids worldwide is available to all for professionals. That’s how I learned that I wanted to help kids ride safely and become a tech. I didn’t stop from a KZread video. Knowledge is power, so carry on.

Infant seats are for rear facing, check the height and weight limits your 2 year old is more than likely maxed out and you’ll need a convertible rear faced seat.

Aslong as you can't move more than an inch when moving at the base. Less than an inch is fine

The seat belt install was done incorrectly.

You also forgot to slide the seat belt through the belt holder on the base opposite the buckle. That orange hook thing right below where you weave it through

@@jamesbuck9284 not wrong, you're missing what I'm saying. In the seat belt application, there is an orange plastic part where you slide the belt through to lock the belt in place on the base. It literally shows it on chicco's tutorial video on how to install it. Nice try tho. I'm a tech. Look on the base in the place where you put the belt through the base. Where the chest strap part of the belt is touching the outside of the base, you will see the orange plastic piece you slip that part of the belt through. Better yet, go watch the manufactured video on how to install it and you'll see what I mean.

" Read this^^ your saying that he ALSO forgot to slide the seat belt through blah blah blah... He didnt forget becuase he used the latches. Its either the latches or the seat belt. You do not use the seat belt if you use the latches, or you dont use the latches if you use the seatbelt. "Nice try tho. I'm a tech." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

@@michelleripley632 your only supposed to do either the seatbelt or the latches like he showed. Not both, if you are doing both you are actually voiding anything from the car manufacture as they only tested 1 at a time not both. Look it up!

Anyone else here because they weren’t putting enough elbow grease in with tightening it and figured you had to be doing something wrong because it was so loose?

Your demonstration of a seatbelt install was incorrect. You are also checking for movement wrong. You only check at the belt path using your non dominant hand with the force of a hand shake.

Please! No one install the carseat this way via the seatbelt. He missed some key steps which is why it wasn't secure afterwards. I don't know why this is posted... watch the chicco installation video and read the manual.

Such a wrong installation using belts- don't know how you even posted this.... just refer to chicco's original instructions video...
