  • @tom_ad9343

    @tom_ad9343

    Budget for $2-3K for the interior and exterior double or single walled pipes, bends, caps, flashing, any bulk heads and labor on top of the cost of the stove you choose. It varies on the home setup (e.g. 1 or 2 stories, rear or top exist, ect.). I used the installation services of the stove distributors...maybe you could find savings using a chimney/roofing contractor.

  • @ginaelizabeth7090

    I am having one installed, they are using my existing chimney, needs a new liner. that is 1000 dollars installed, The new style stoves have re-burn technology which makes them EPA approved and burns logs much longer and more cleanly. So i went with that. The stove is 2299.00 USD. install and all the additional's like stove pipe, added expenses etc. is running me north of 5000.00 USD. This Does NOT include the required wall and floor prep work for the stove to be within code. So I figured my install in its entirety will run me close to 6400.00 USD. But the savings in using my LP gas furnace will pay this off in 6 years or less.

    @@MAGAMAN, if it's cold outside (which is probably why you have the stove on), the glass is exposed to cold on one side and heat on the other, and this can create thermal stress. I believe building codes require a minimum of 36" between window glass and stove.
