I am a renovation contractor, so installation of ranges whether gas or electric standing or built in is part of my ongoing business. As a refresher I saw your video, and I applaud you! I specially got a kick out of the fact that you did it barefoot!!! If any do-it-yourselfer sees that you can accomplish this with such ease even barefoot it has to build great confidence in them! Nice job! Thank you for sharing!

The only thing negative I have to say about this oven is that it does take a little longer to preheat at high temperatures. Not a big deal. Other than that it's great! Hello there, thanks for watching. The junction box was there when the house was being built. The junction box is not difficult to install. Has to be W30" of working surface space. If that's all the room you have to work with. It can only fit a small oven just like mine. My cut out is 28" width so it'll fit on the 30". But first you will need to find an oven you would like to install and see if it fits.

The tape on the wire nuts could be overkill but it isn’t wrong, I have seen that in metal boxes from time to time. It looks like all best practices and code was followed. Everyone needs to know their limitations but hooking up an oven isn’t a complex task. Often carefully following instructions and researching codes, best practices etc. yields better results than hiring a “pro” who even if fully proficient doesn’t put in the attention to detail that a homeowner would do themselves.

If done on Australia without being a qualified electrician your house wouldn't be insured

Good to know. Different countries different rules. Has that been a code for a long time?

During The most important part (the electrical ) we can’t see a thing because your arms are Blocking the camera. There’s also no explanation of what you’re doing. Different camera angle would make a huge difference to your audience

This was a decent video but you continue to go over the same thing too many times. Just get to the point and move on. Not bad for a d.i.y. video. You did exceptionally better than most.

I thought you would address the problem of an opening that might be larger than needed, showing tips on filling in the gaps. You lucked out as your oven fit your existing opening perfectly. Not such a good video.

John, you thought wrong. That's not how installing appliance work in cabinetry! You just don't fill gaps... If you want to fill gaps it's not hard. With the use of problem solving, design the new front face opening, screw it onto the existing cabinet with the proper smaller opening. You will probably want to color match with the existing cabinets and you will need wood filler to fill in the gaps and etc. Or you redesign the entire new front.

lol, being a bit harsh there. You think he should make a video and stuff it on purpose so people who also stuff it know how to fix their stuff up?
