The eccentricity of crafting replacement parts to fit and appear original is the enjoyment of bringing these old masterpieces back to life. It can present tedious and frustrating challenges for the less than enthusiastic installer. Experience and repetition are great teachers. For those that have scratched their heads for hours, remember that these vehicles were hand built by men in overalls with no special skills or tools. If they did it a hundred years ago, you can do it today…👍

Although there have been printed articles on this task, yours is the first video and the ONLY place I've seen the attachment of the gutters. Well done. I've added this video to the VIDEOS portion of the MAFCA website.

Great work and filmmaking as always! I need to re-cover my tudor's roof, and have been dreading the task of straightening my bumpy and kinked rear trim moulding. Never really liked the idea of replacing with hidem, but you've made it look quite good. Will certainly have to give it a second thought.. Thanks for taking the time and effort to put out these videos.

Looks great. I'm sure the silicone sealant is more than adequate for sealing this installation. I've been using Lexel sealant the last couple of years. I believe it bonds to surfaces better than most sealants. Also, the unused portion seems to last indefinitely if the tube is stored in a refrigerator.

Brother, what would be a good way to bend and form drip rails and front and back moudlings from the top of model a tudor? Am at that point now. Thank you so much! David

Thanks for the video. Now I'm starting to get brave enough to install my rain gutters. When I bought the car the roof had been installed with the metal strip in place and had been sealed as well. I have attempted to install the rain gutters a couple of times but backed away. did not want to bruise my nice paint job. the metal strip seems awful close to the painted area . how far away from the painted area should this metal strips be.

The wood behind them was gone, so the gutters just pulled off easily. But yes, they are delicate. Most of the time they have to be replaced after removing.

Why didn't you remove the front top eyebrow metal and tack the fabric into the header wood and then install the front metal piece?
