Installing A Subwoofer In My 2020 Rav4
The factory speakers in my 2020 Rav4 leave a lot to be desired especially when it comes to bass. I'm going to take care of that today by installing a Rockville Rockghost V2 spare tire mounted subwoofer. Let's get started!!!

Thanks for the video and review! I am installing one in my '14 Camry. Hoping to have it around Christmas time!
I just installed my V2 in my ‘23 grand Cherokee. I wired it to my back door speaker wires. It’s incredible, and you don’t need to hook up that blue wire,it turns on and off with the radio.
Cool design!
I leached power off the back plug wired the sub up to the back speakers and sent the remote wire to the front
Awesome video I really appreciate you taking the time to post this I just purchased for my 2022 rav 4, does the stock head unit have the necessities without upgrading the head unit?

You’re welcome! I don’t think the stock head unit has a sub out but you should be able to wire it using the speaker inputs instead. You would need to wire those to the rear speakers in the rear doors.
I have the v1 8 inch model over 2 years, it's good enough when you're in the car with the windows up but it won't impress anyone outside with the windows down. 2 cons are it doesn't play really low bass and mines use to cut off after a while but it was due to a short in a wire

You are right, it won’t impress anyone who is a bass head but it sure does sound better than stock!!

Replace v1 to v2 is way better stronger bass
Awesome video man, wondering how you’re enjoying it so far? I was going to go with the Cerwin Vega, but I think the V2 should suffice as I’m not a crazy bass head. And the price is basically half!

So far it’s perfect for my application. I’m not a bass head either but it does bump pretty good. I don’t have amps on the rest of my system and I have to keep the bass turned down since it way overpowers the rest of the stereo.

@@ProjectDIY2 thanks champ, I figured it could😅. My stock radio with ds18 coaxials gets loud, but I also will have an plug n play amp for the speakers so everything combined should be good enough for me

@@ProjectDIY2 Just hoping to catch a Memorial Day sell or coupon to save a couple bucks😅, else I would’ve already bought it.

@@impropernovice2149Did you get it yet? I am holding out for Black Friday sales. I have a '14 Camry with aftermarket head unit and speakers. I'm installing the sub first to determine if I'd prefer a mid level Amp. TIA
Make a video of what the proceedure is when you have to change your tire, how much of a pain is ts to get the tire out.

It’s not bad. Just take the bolt out of the center, set the speaker off to the side and lift the tire out
Did Key1 end up being the correct "remote" wire to the amp? I couldn't find a manual for my Android head unit and it also has Key 1 and Key 2. Alternatively, I could use a fuse tap on a accessory-power circuit if Key 1 doesn't work out. Thoughts?

Neither Key1 nor Key2 worked. I ended up doing exactly what you described.

A fuse tap?
@Pepe_Chuckles
Жыл бұрын
@@BikesnBros-xz1bk yeah my head unit didn't have a "remote" turn on wire for my amp, so I used a "fuse tap" that plugs into the fuse box to the amp's remote wire and only turns on when the car is on.

@@ProjectDIY2Does need a 12 volt switched signal? If so I have a power adapter installed in my rear seat area. I can tie into that. TIA...

Yes, you’ll need the 12v switched signal to turn on the amp via the remote wire.
Wow 0 sound deadening in these cars. I wonder if I should add some to mine… it’s much quieter than my Prius, but idk
