Great video. You are crafty and explain the task better than the instructions

Thanks for the excellent instruction. I'm installing a Sniper 2 EFI system on my ‘74 Chevy K10, and I needed to know exactly how to do this on a new throttle bracket, too.

This is the 70 240Z with a Chevy 350 V8 I'm bringing back to life. I'll be posting the first video on it in soon.

Thanks for the video! What did you use on the pedal to keep the ball from going back through? Just tiny washers?

  • @DickShaw

Yes, if the hole is too big use a washer as you describe. Thanks for watching!

Really good video, as usual from you(not sure how you do it, do you have camera person?). Anyway, is this the same car you've been working on?? If so, when did you drop the small block in?? I got a 73 too, and im installing lokar cable for the 280z throttle body, hated the oem throttle linkage...

Thanks for the comment. I do not have a camera person, I do all of it and then edit it to try to make it flow. This is another 240Z that I got from the same fellow I bought the 73 from. It was a package deal. I have just finished the first video for this build and might have it released by tomorrow. Thanks for your interest.

So you didn't cut the actual cable, just the cable housing ?

  • @DickShaw

Yes, I had to cut the cable as well. It is shown toward the end of the video. Thanks for watching.

great tutorial on the cable installation. but i do have to say your distributor is not installed at the proper clocking. the vacuum advance port should be pointing to the valve cover nut on the right side of the engine. otherwise the chevy people are going to make fun of it... lol kzread.info/dash/bejne/pXWIsZiklszFhrw.htmlsi=FH9JTnfIQ_ThaLdX

Ha Ha, you are very observant! However, you can't see the whole picture. The high rise aluminum manifold and the fuel line prevent the distributor from being in the position you suggest which would be more proper for sure. Check out the last 30 seconds of this video and you will see what I am talking about. Thanks for watching and for the comment :)
