    Would you just silicone the end gap or each joint? how do you determine the fall I’ve about a 5m length for these to go into it’s a drive and the fall naturally runs into the drain hole but these would help it disperse quicker or would I make it level with the paving that’s there?

  • @jaspermillerlandscaping6174

    @jaspermillerlandscaping6174

    Just the end cap, joins do not need it. So yeah as long as the fall always heads towards the drain you would have no problems on 5m, level is perfectly fine in my opinion. The main thing is You definitely do not want this running away from the drain your connecting the aco drainage too.

    Hello mate thanks for your comment, for this I have gone level as it’s only 4.5 m wide , so the water will naturally find its way to the outlet, if your doing larger areas I’d suggest having a slight fall but as long as you don’t have a fall going away from the outlet you shouldn’t have any problems. You definitely need to have a fall on your drainage from the outlet to your soak away . I hope that answers your question, and again thanks for the comment.👍

    I'm missing something. If your drain has a 1:200 fall on it and you want it flush with your block work, does your block work have to have the same fall?? So if I'm doing a patio, I want the drain to be parallel with the brick work on my house. Then the patio to have a slight fall away from it. So does your finished stone work need fall right to left to match the drain and front to back to come away from the house??

  • @jaspermillerlandscaping6174

    @jaspermillerlandscaping6174

    19 күн бұрын

    @scottlinus hello mate, in short yes if you have a fall with your drain I would run the block work the same. It also depends on how long your run is if it's like a 10 metre run of drainage you'd definitely need a slight fall on it. For me as explained above I just kept my aco drainage level so it looked parallel with my brick work. I had a very minimal run on the blocks between the aco drain and the house, running from the house back into the aco drainage. Also from my aco drain to my soakaway there was a fall off 1 inch per metre. Does that help? Basically if you have a run on the drainage, I'd run my blocks the same as the drain. But that wouldn't be parallel to the brick work. If the run wasn't to long I'd run my drainage level so it looked parallel. But make sure that the run from the drain to soakaway was decent. I'd also run some blocks/slabs between the drainage and the house wich would match the drainage level left to right but have a slight run from the house to the drainage.

    Hi mark , so for these i laid them level as it only 5m wide and the water will naturally find its way to the drainage hole as long as it isn't falling away from the hole you won't have any problems. If you were doing any larger areas i would recommend you have a fall towards the hole and obviously you need a run on your pipes leading to you soakaway. Thanks for your comment 👍

    Hi Jasper. Fine Video mate. I'm going to pinch a lttle on the damp proof course so as to get a better drop drown to the other aco drainage channel. my drive is raised from my neighbours house. I thought I'd put acos directly against the wall so as to limit rain splash against the house rather than put a row of blocks first. is that OK and if I can't put a soak away in as only 4 metres from house and 3 metres from road is there such a pipe with like a plug on so I can drill a hole in the support wall to my neighbours house and then after rain remove the plug or unscrew a fitting to drain out the water in the acos that will run to a drop at the side of the drive and effectively harvest the rain water. Bit hard to imagine I know . appreciated
