I got the sdr 12 loaded enclosure with rp1200.1 amp as a kit. Do use both speaker hook ups on the amp to the one hook up on the box? So id have to use 2+ & 2- to the 1 hook up on box? Directions aren't very clear since they show multiple amps.

So did you have to bridge the subwoofers or do they come bridge?

Just wondering is this recommended for all sub systems or just at a certain wattage? Im running 3200 watts over 4 800 watt speakers, so far ive not had any issues with the system and its been in the car for a few years now.

I have the 2 10" 1200watt skar audio package in my 2003 Saturn Ion. Let me tell you I have had A LOT of people pull up next to me and ask what the HELL I have in that poor car!!!!???? Great buy, highly recommended

Thanks for posting your install, that is exactly what I want to do, I have just purchased the wiring kit, and will put a gel battery in the back, I was hesitant to put the power cable underneath the frame, but glad you showed that , and it worked for you. MY amp kept clipping with the small power wire, and the speaker sounds like its blown sometimes, definitely starving for current. since I'm going under the frame install should be easy. I got the Monoblock 1200 with the sdr 12" mono enclosure.

Ditto, that is a pretty big sub box you will be vibrating the glass well when you can give it some beans.

I just bought x2 Skar 10's and a Skar 1200w amp. Going 2ohm. I'll probably get a second battery as well just for stability. Installing in a Silverado so I have a second battery mount already there.

I just did the big 3. Now ima gonna hook up the sub and amp. Hope Its enough to power it

I have a skar sdr 15 its only 600 watts rms but it hits hard and I don't have the gain up to half I think its a quarter of the way up but its hitting hard

?? How would it work and sound if you took a good 12" home speaker and cut it in 1/2 removing the tweeter and mid range stuff and just left the big speaker end of it, then covered the "CUT" end area back over and hooked an amp to it??

I this case a double ground could be created which could cause a engine whine sound securing the amp to metal. Rubber grommets between the amp and the metal could isolate that or a amp rack made from plywood would be ideal!

So the extra battery, basically you just run an extra positive and negative wire to the main battery without using any other component?

I always install a cutoff switch from the battery into the vehicle, I put a piece of wire on the amp for the REM, it's a good idea if you want to preserve your batt life, you can go to West Marine and get a switch 150 Amp Cutoff

Nice i run a skar rp800 for now. Looking for 3k rms sound digital. Built my own 12inch sub. Should handle 3k rms. It hit 144.6 at 450 watts rms. Everyone thinks i got 2 15s. the joys of custom built 12 inch sub and box. I had 2 skar zvx-8s those hit a 142.6 at 35hz. Theres vids on my channel of both. Moving windshield, flexing steering wheel, floating bags. Edit: to add make sure you set your gain perfect skars hate clipping and will toast real quick. I use a, o scope to set gains. Same with lpf i had it set around 80hz and the subsonic to cut off at 30. Skars hate frequencies outside of that for the most part. Atleast in my experience.

With the second battery you need a second fuse near it to protect the power wire going back to the front.

I agree. You have power going both ways. The reason you fuse the front is the same reason you fuse the back. I mean, why not be safer? Anl fuse block is $10.

@@genyaharrington3256 it is always a good idea to not put strain on your electronic system, most cars now are so thirsty for power that any other extra drain will affect the systems, and a lot cheaper than upgrading your alternator and a capacitor, you can add a motorcycle gel battery, and will still work best than a capacitor.

You should definitely get a second battery so you'll only have to run one long cable to the battery and the rest will be like 5 feet bro. And as for the isolator i never ran one because i always went for spl not just a good reliable setup. The battery will drain faster but if you buy a new one like me you just exchange them.

So the amp goes to the battery and the amp goes to the speeker

I have a all skar audio and skar accessories ie wires and fuses. They have completely blown away the competition there amplifiers put out the exact amount they advertise or exceed what they advertise I have seen their amps go as much as 400 W over what they advertise so I am a big believer in skar audio. The money I save in buying skar audio equipment I’m able to invest in better and thicker wires sound deadening mat’s Second battery all those really cool fun things to buy that really make a difference I don’t know if you really need an equalizer but it sure is nice to be able to buy one because it sure looks cool in the car. When I get the money to have the equipment Professionally installed at that point I’m going to start making my own KZread video I think people should know that skar audio is first class equipment straight down the line and I’ll put it up against anything and it seems like people really don’t know that. I’ve had people look at my stereo and say “well it is a skar audio” Meaning “well it is second class” or whatever they were saying they weren’t being kind and then all of a sudden I blow their stereo out the water and I spent a quarter of what they spent. But I am old enough to remember a company called Phoenix gold had just come out and they had some of the best most powerful and clean sounding and cool looking equipment and affordable I was 20 years old put together my first competition car audio my first competition debut and I won first place I couldn’t believe it then as the years went by something happened to Phoenix gold and their amp’s were not affordable and you could not trust the advertisement anymore so just in case same thing happens to Skar audio I’m buying up everything I can as fast as I can for my second build at 53 years old before skar audio has the chance to go the way of Phoenix gold I’m not saying it would I’m just saying it happens The bottom line is it is a great company today but they have a long way to go before they have the consistency and trust that you find in Rockford Fosgate and or kicker. Cool video but I felt like to described more details about installing a 2nd car batter as opposed to installing the actual amp. I recently picked up some skar audio products (tx65c, tx525, the 1000 watt 5 ch amp along with all the recommended wires and install kit). Went skar audio for the full upgrade in my car. I’m new at this wish me luck on the install. #maga2024

One thing is you don’t want to mix kinds of batteries and second you need to set the gain with a o scope or a dd1, and Skar Audio is a good company, and red top batteries are not the greatest for car audio, their is a lot better out there for cheaper, fyi I have been installing car audio for about 12 years and been a dealer for RD audio for about 10 years so if u have any question about anything u can message me and I’ll help anyone

Nothing wrong with mixing batteries sizes and brands. Alot of people in comps do it. People run xs power 3100s and 7400s together. Some will run a run of the mill autozone bat with a 3100 out back. Ive seen alot rub optimum nothing wrong with them. Only issue would be running a 16v battery with a 14v battery which even that is not wrong if setup right.

Oh yeah i run a interstate with a 3100 under my seat for now. Steady 13.2v only a 120 alt. Getting a brand x 370 alt self exciting alt with a external volt controller, soon for when i get my sd 3k

@@timmybrelsford7524 not on a stock system. Like mine it rests at 12.56v and charges never above 13.3v They can fry over 14v but most stock systems are mid to low 13s charging. Plus if you did separate charge. Run a wire straight from the alt to the underhood battery then a 2nd run to the trunk itll be fine that way also. Thats how mine will be when i get the 370 alt in. So they each will have there own battery supply.

@@timmybrelsford7524 mined been wired for 4 years now the lead battery under the hood is date 04/13, 2 days after purchased the vehicle i ran 1/0 from that battery to the xs power in the back. havnt had a issue with either. People at shows say the same thing you have said. But if you know what the system is doing it can be done fine and can last on it. Everything is system and vehicle based and goals of what you want. Just like guys that play at .5 ohms or even .25 ohms but they know what they need to do to run a system like that. Or guys that run 16v on a 14.4v amp.
