It gets expensive, this is why an LS swap is really cost efficient

Make a RWD civic with the K24. Make a RWD Prelude with the K24. Make a RWD (ANYTHING ELSE)with the K24. Love your work Hosers.

Congrats guys! One step closer to getting her back on the road/track. I'm really interested to see how this turns out because I'm loving the idea of this build for my Z.

Just in case you guys are tracking, I often watch these vids on my downtime at work. I don't want to log in to officially like the vid, so I'll come home and click the vid and like it in the first few seconds and skip ahead here and there (in case I wanted to recap). So don't think I'm not watching before liking! I love the channel and projects!

Well done guys! An old trick I use when sticking a manual trans is to spray the input shaft with WD40. You'll be amazed at how much easier it slides in.

I normally don't watch this channel's videos when it pops up on my sub feed but this one was pretty good and worth my time.

Oddly i was thinking what trans will be good to mate with a k20 for a datsun pickup , and this was in my recommendations 😂

Those press in plugs can be removed best by piercing the middle with a sharp tapered punch. That will stretch it inward and release it from the hole. Then they should be installed with sealant. I worked in an engine machine shop, never used a drill for plugs like that

Smashed it ten times!!

Loctite the adapter plate on, BoostedBoiz had adapter plate bolts wiggle loose and caused the pilot bearing to get all chowdered up and the clutch to go funny. Maybe not a problem, but who knows

I remember Dave saying he liked the idea of building a kmiata one day in a past vid, think it was a gridlife walk around. It looks like great bits of kit. Still consider it after this build and your recent Miata off? Or LFX perhaps?

How can you tell when you torque a bolt the correct 10lbs for example. Is it each click from the wrench when the bolt is hand tighten any pointers will help

Just wondering if the new inside circlips you installed, were flat/sharp-side-out. Installing them rounded-side-out, can result in the clips failing.

Are you putting any kind of blocking plate on the cover the gap from the bottom of the engine to the bottom of the trans? I would be worried about road debris flying up and damaging the backside of my flywheel.

So is that the right pilot bearing to match the input shaft of that trans? Cus if the input shaft has play like that alignment tool did that's no good lol

The 5th gear in my e46 330ci doesn't centre itself when cold but does when up to temperature, will have to wait if I ever need to replace the clutch! What oil are you going to use seeing as it's "lifetime" and doesn't need to be replaced??

Anyways you could post the exact engine model and transmission as well the list of parts to mate the two?

Easy way to get plugs out like that without a slide hammer is to just out a self tapping screw into it and pry it out with a pry bar

1 question why do you have to put tape on the alignment tool when you can just run a BMW pilot bearing things don't make sense ?

Ran 9.96 @ 156 with a zf 5 speed in a 4 door e36 in like 2007. Only time ive ever broke them is long pulls in 3rd letting the boost build. Normal shifting its fine. Even handled 800whp no lift shifts at the track when the stupid bmw plastic gas pedal got broke and stuck.😂

I just found a 2005 honda civic SI K20 with 90K miles for $350 is that a good deal ? I would like to build a rear wheel drive 1929 -31 ford open wheel 5 widow rat rod / streetrod using a motor like this what would it run to have your shop find the BMW trans. and get it all ready to install on this motor with the parts and adaptors in this video when I decide to start building one ? I just need a ball park estimate not a 100% accurate price thanks...

Is the clutch for a ZF trans?

I’m installing a 6speed tranny with this kit right now and for the love of god can’t get the tranny to line up to the plate flush. There’s and alignment pin on top of the tranny which isn’t going sliding in to the plate even thought it’s sitting right on top of where it needs to go. I’ve aligned the discs and everything twice... any advice on getting it sitting flush before I can bolt it on correctly?

man with all K swap going on makes me wanna ditch my ls swapped 95 bmw 540 and stuff in a K lolmight be fun!!!!!!!!!

They did not lubricate the clutch shaft with high temp greasase. the throwout bearing is not to be seen which needs lubrication also, and so on.

I think it would fit with room to spare on the sides, might need a bit of trimming up top since that seems to be the area that can pose the most amount of clearance issues.

Deadass forgot my detent neutral in my new trans and it's so hard to shift lmao

What zf trans is that? Can you tell me the code of it?

Love the work..... but I really don't see how this engine swap is anymore beneficial or cheaper than building the OEM engine.
