How to install a bass system in a 2015 VW GTI MK7
This is a video for how to install a bass system in a 2015 VW GTI MK7. Alot of people have asked where to obtain the wires for this vehicle and what to use to install their bass or amplifiers. ENJOY!

Well done this we'll help me out big time with my TDI.
Nice clean install man great work
very helpful thank you dude great vid
Great video!
Nice video, how did you run the power and ground for the LC2i? did u run individual cables to the battery for power or did u grab power and ground off the amp?
Awesome video! Helps a lot with my install! I am using a LOC I got from bestbuy and I have the fender audio so I tapped my left (+/-) and right (+/-) to my wires in the trunk. My LOC has two ground wires, do you know if it’s necessary to ground these out? Thanks :)
I installed a powered subwoofer on my 2016 e-Golf (non Fender audio) by tapping the speaker output wires like you did and connecting them directly to the sub’s high level input. I noticed the head unit output now clips at a much lower volume and it gets unusually hot. It is almost impossible to set the sub amp gain as the levels are all over the place and slight changes to the amp gain cause the sub to cut in and out. I verified the polarity of all connections on both ends and everything seems alright. I would assume tapping into the speaker outputs effectively lowers the impedance seen by the head unit onboard amp causing it to go crazy. Wondering if using an LC2i instead of the sub’s high level inputs may make any difference.
Very cool video. Do you know by any chance the color wires on the rear left side? I want to put a HI-LO and rca right to that amp. Any new fabrication done? I want to make my own box. Why alpine type S.
Great job bro! It would be great if we can get the wiring diagram you used.
good point about interference. nice job
Hello, I just recently had an install done on my 2015 GTI with the fender audio system. JL Audio 12W 1v3 JL Audio JX250\1 Ported Box The in-line converter is LOC PRO 7-2R I feel like the sub hits nice and hard at the higher frequencies (50hz+) but anything below is just really "lacking" I don't know it's hard to explain it just doesn't feel very crisp and low. Like there is some kind of cutoff that the headunit is sending to the subs to I'm assuming make it so it doesn't damage the speakers up front (which I have disabled the bass from going to them anyway) ANYWAY My question to you is does the L2i fix this issue? I really hope so because I just spent a stupid amount of money on this install and this bass rolloff or what appears to be a high pass cutoff below 50hz is a real bummer.
Hi, is the hole on the firewall big enough to do 2 - 3 runs of 0 gauge wires through?
Amigo, onde tu ligou o cabo remoto para ligar o amplificador junto com a central multimidia?
how pleased are you with the factory tuned roll off of the eq? I am not please very much....does anyone know how to get around that while using the factory radio??
so is the CD holder in the glovebox also the amp? I wanted to get rid of the CD holder being no one has used one of those in over ten years, why they still put them in cars is beyond me.
How did you know what wires to hook up too? I can't find a proper wire diagram for this.
where you bought a tube with a filter cone ?
What wires did you tap into? Colors? Did get full signal using front speakers??
Dude, nice video. Please post the wiring diagram or tell us where to get it. Thanks
Can I do this to my 2015 polo gti? It's a 6 speaker audio system
What did you use for a remote wire?
Where did you find the information about the cables
Which wires do you exactly tap into because i dont get it can you please help i dont understand the diagram
Does wiring to the back of the CD player allow bass for other audio sources too? (Bluetooth, radio, etc.)

great video and great job. Every other video I have seen looked like shit. What wiring kit did you use ?
I just did the same installation on my 2016 Golf TSI Blue / white strip - Negative Black / white strip - Positive Blue / black strip - Positive White / black strip - Negative (I think) It doesnt have a remote cable so i had to connect it to the power cable with a switch so I can turn the amp off manually

You can just use one + of the speakers as a remote and it works perfectly :)
Thanks for the video, how/where i can get the + 12v wire to connect it to the LC2i and how i have to connect the ground wire to the LC2i?
@OrangeSliceEclipse

IMP the ingition wire you can get from the fuse box under the drivers side dash. With a test light, check for 12v power when the key is turned to the on position. Put the wire on the side that shows power when the fuse is pulled out (the protected side). The LC2i has a built in remote turn on called "GTO". It automatically puts remote output to your amplifier. Make sure the jumper is set to "enable".

thanks a lot. how about the ground wire that goes to the LC2i?
@OrangeSliceEclipse

IMP anything metal to the chassis is sufficient. If it's a bad ground, it'll go in and out of working. Using a test light after it's installed, if it's also a bad ground it'll light up the test light when checking ground on the LC2i.

Great Video - should be really helpful. Can you post the wiring diagram or a link to it? Can't find it in the comments. Thanks!

Hey man, how do you think is it ok/possible to just replace that audio with an aftermarket one that already has RCAs, it won't mess the other part of the VW Infotainment system (or w/e it's called)?

@@OrangeSliceEclipse Hi yes this I want to know. That CD player unit in the glove box that you pulled out. Can I have it replaced by an aftermarket Single DIN head unit, would it fit? I have a Pioneer Headnunit I want to install.
My radio/cd player won't click in because there are too many wires in the back, which in turn makes the glove box difficult to close. Do you have any suggestions to help the radio fit?

Karla Brown you need to tap the wires to the very back of the harness. As much as possible. Otherwise it clutters together at the front. Zip tie the wires together. Once you push the radio back in, you'll have to put some good pressure. It'll lock in place. If that doesn't work, you'll have to drop the glove box by removing all the torque screws holding it in place. Hope this helps.

Anybody have a Wiring diagram? I have a 2016 Golf R with the Fender system. Looking to know what each wire is in the back. Thanks

Sorry, maybe I'm blind but I've looked through all your comments and I can't find the link for the wiring diagram you're talking about. Could you maybe post it as a reply to this comment? I would really appreciate it, knowing which cables to tap into for the hi level speaker inputs is my last battle with this project!

Hey Geoffrey, assuming you've got it figured out, what T tap gauge did you use on the speaker wiring?
Glad I bout the se smh
Better use a quadlock adapter, not damage the original wires
why not just tap into rear speakers?
That's one way to have your warranty voided if some is to go wrong lol. great video tho
Ex: You showed the keys to pop out the head unit wayyy too long- we all got the point and figured out how it works in like 0.7 seconds after seeing the keys and the holes they go in lol
Good video and thank you for posting but omg my brain works so much faster than you talk. You repeat yourself over and over and over. Stop saying the same thing 5 times and this video would only need to be 3 min 😉 but thank you for posting!!!
Did you wire the remote from the amp?

Tuffy Doll from the lc2i. it has audio remote sensing where it provides a remote signal for you.
