I like the idea of using Velcro instead of zip ties for quick removal if needed and the non slip material will give a more even secured area than just two sided tape alone

Could you please let us know how you attached the wood post to the wall on the other side?

Which gate is that because my post upstairs are in even and hard for me to buy a normal baby gate

Screw to wall, fill holes when gate no longer required.

It wouldn't look as neat but zip ties would work well too

......... yeah I don't have any kids yet but I do sleepwalk so ...............

The velcro is not a good idea for a long term installation. Any walking toddler can pull that right off.

I did something like this a month ago with plans from Stodoys.
