2:10 this advice is so underrated and unless you enjoy lots of extra knot tying, just look behind and above you 🤣😉

We have video from that trip of lots of flies and leaders in the trees. Happens all the time, even to us! Thanks

@@newflyfisher that makes me feel better knowing I'm not alone with this. NJ is plagued with trees on every river 🥺

Great Video. I would like to use your video in my digital magazine if it is OK. I think it's OK to use youtube videos but always like to ask. It would be embedded in the magazine. Thanks

Is there a reason you're not holding the line at your rod with your casting hand during the drift? Seems like you'll have a hard time setting the hook if you get a strike before the end.

Totally agree, I usually move the line from my left hand to the right, pinching it against the cork. In slow-motion, it looks like i'm not doing it very fast...but I do! Thanks for the feedback

I caught the `10 to 11 ft rod but what weight and line was used? That was one heck of a nice fish!

The rod I was using was a 10 foot for seven weight model (my favourite length and weight for Great Lakes Steelhead and also Atlantic Salmon). The line I was using was Scientific Anglers Amplitude Smooth Infinity WF7F. This line is a half-size heavier than designated which is ideal for loading fast-action rods. Hope this is the info you wanted. Cheers

I felt like a little bit of a jerk for pointing it out, but I think a correct spelling lends more credibility to the video. Much love my friend!
