I think there’s an issue with most players trying to adapt that idea, and it’s related to lack of basis: understanding, that you only need more force because you need to rotate whole body to swing well, rather than just use your arm. If one doesn’t use torso turn to drive the arm, no amount of forceful push against the ground will help to power the swing. It’s very important to not skip that part: you need to rotate full and fast enough. And to achieve that, you need to, in most cases, prepare with using turn. And if you do it, you may pick everything else intuitively, or you may find out (via coach eye or by self-analysis) that you need to use your legs to drive that rotation more. And get easy consistent power. Hence, I wouldn’t be focusing on “ground up” force before upper body swing sequence is correctly in place. After all, athletic players can do jump shots, like mule kick, where they don’t accelerate body rotation by pushing against the ground, and still achieve great power.

Thank you, Anton. I think this is very valuable tip. I am playing tennis most of my life on club level, and I am still struggling to find consistent power.

Awesome instructions Kevin as always. Very clear and no ambiguity. Just one doubt, are we supposed to hit through the ball or brush up the back of the ball?

I don't understand a little how to increase accuracy (to know where to hit), I understand that if you want to hit diagonally, then when you contact the ball you need to keep your hand straight, and to hit in a straight line, you need to hit from the bottom up? Or did I misunderstand? Can you explain in more detail please?
