How to increase your child's IQ - proven tips from scientists

Raising your child's IQ is all about having a great environment and stimulation. With this helpful ways your children can even grow to become what society refer to as geniuses.
What percentage is IQ? How much is stimulation and how much is genetic? In the field it is usually considered as 50/50. If a person can't achieve something regardless of how much they're motivated and how much they prepared for it then they probably won't reach it, although there are obviously some exceptions. Like for example Mozart, he was one of those kids that came out with a very low IQ functioning family but rose through and became someone that we call a genius. From this we can say that for almost every genius doesn't necessarily came from parent with high IQ.
Dr. Frank Lawlis, supervisory psychologist for @American Mensa , the oldest and largest IQ society in the world, and chief content adviser to the Dr. Phil Show, will tell us the signs of a gifted child and give us tips on how we can cultivate genius in our own children.

I started reading to my newborn!!! As a children’s librarian I already knew how much reading is important from the earliest days. It’s a big misconception that even though babies don’t understand words yet we shouldn’t read to them. There are numerous UNESCO campaigns about reading from the earliest age. It’s proven to stimulate and help babies with so many things in their whole development.

Another excellent video on child development. Dr. Lawlis gives tips on how any child can increase their IQ level. I found this very fascinating as any family can incorporate improving IQ of their child with relatively simple tips.

This interview was a nice reminder that just because someone has a higher IQ does not mean they have critical thinking skills. I cringed listening to Dr. Lawlis because most of what he said lacked substance, depth and real thought. How people can take this man seriously bewilders me

It's much easier to boost a child's IQ. From before birth to age 4, an infant's brain grows explosively. In fact, your child's brain has reached 90% of its adult size before kindergarten. This period of great growth provides an ideal window of opportunity for increasing IQ. That being said, our brains can always grow through diet, exercise and learning new things.

My mother homeschooled me during the summers. I was reading by 2 and knew my multiplication tables by 4. I was counting to 100 by 3. My grandmother always fed me different foods including boiled eggs. My grandfather made me more vegetable dishes at age 5 even though I have been eating them since I was 2. I have been doing breathing exercises and dancing since I was 4 and speaking different languages and learning from my father since I was 5. Gardening since I was 4. Don't get me started, I have a whole list lmfao

She played classical music mainly when I was in her womb she said. She said she loved when I asked why all the time. She showed me lots of affection, with a healthy balance of discipline. She was very strict, but with good reason. My grandfather walked me through mental strength lessons. My grandmother and mother taught me southern belle etiquette. My father held conversations with me in Spanish. I mean honestly, just interact with your children and treat them like they matter. Need we say more?

@@beyza2004 I tried to find info on line about Mozart's parents being of lower IQ but could not find that information. While studies show that upbringing can alter IQ a little, maybe 8 points max. Habitual smoking of Marijuana can decrease IQ by up to 10 points. IQ decreases with age for a majority of people. I'm sure Peterson knows all of these studies better than I do.

I don’t recall Peterson saying that. And I’m probably not quoting Peterson verbatim here, but in his words, he probably said “well, it’s complicated”. IQ isn’t so simple. And IQ is nurture upon nature. Meaning you can nurture your brain, but you are only nurturing your nature. Nurture technically may be unlimited, but nature is limited, and therefore, nurturing one’s nature is also limited. We can work on learning more, having a healthy lifestyle, and doing our best to maximize our potential. But we cannot change who we are.
