Yes speed surely increases by these methods. I suggest the serious aspirants who want to increase their speed that you read the speed reading book by Tony Buzan or Mind Power techniques by Raj Bapna. The two stop reading methods and developing peripheral vision and chunking habit along with eliminating subvocalisation will help a lot in doubling or tripling the reading speed or even more.
