The DSSMAN process functions as a scheduler for the DSSSDA and DSSEVT processes on its node. When a DSS client needs to access a data set table or use the DSS event mechanism, it initially communicates with the DSSMAN process. The DSSMAN process then selects either the DSSSDA or DSSEVT process for the client based on the specific requirements. After this selection, the DSS client communicates directly with the assigned DSSSDA and/or DSSEVT process. Each node running one or more DSSSDA and/or DSSEVT processes should have only one active DSSMAN process. This process is always named "DSSMAN."
