Energy cannot be increased simply having a capacitor wired to the speaker. It may change the frequency response of the speaker, that is all. In the Sansui AU70 tube amplifier, there was a "presence" control switch like the loudness control. The switch was wired to the feedback from the speaker output but with a capacitor make or break. There was a subtle difference when it was turned on. Get a bigger woofer if you want MORE bass.

Yes, it is counter intuitive but this works. The best value will depend on the individual woofer and the cabinet. Notice that the capacitance is very large. It does make a high pass filter (which coincidentally helps protect the woofer) but well below the woofer's operating range. The trick is that the capacitive reactance of the caps works with the impedance (partially inductive) of the woofer to create a bump in the output causing the output to resemble an extended bass shelf alignment even in a sealed enclosure. If the capacitance is too small you will get an ugly peak which is also too high in frequency. If it is too large your roll off will essentially be the same as without a cap. Note woofer excursion will increase in proportion to the boost so just like using EQ you will not get any more maximum SPL out of the speaker but it can be made flatter in response.

You mean is low pass filter. Not increase the bass.

I have a cuckoo clock melody circuit that is connected to the 8ohm 0.5w speaker and I want to replace it with the 8ohm 1w speaker. When I connected it the output was not that much great as the 0.5w speaker. What will change do I need to do?

because the 0.5 watts and 1 watts is the big difference
You makin more impeadance in parallel with the coil, measure ohms . The bulb can help the speaker from clipping you find the right voltage. Also if you have fuse speaker thats alwats blowing cabinets you can use the bulb in place of the fuse. You gotta do the math and find 8 ohm or whatever bulb

Putting a capacitor in series BLOCKS THE BASS. To make it a low pass it should be done in parallel like the first times with the light bulbs. BUT that isn't the correct way to do it either. If nobody noticed, it had WAY more bass sound, ALTHOUGH NOT AMPLIFIED, before and more highs on the last one. HE LITERALLY BLOCKED BASS AND CLAIMED IT INCREASED

Nah it definately increased the bass maybe you can't hear it on your setup? I've seen people do this for a long time and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, you seem to be forgetting capacitors do store energy, it's probably something that isn't widely known or understood, the knowledge we have of how electricity works is incomplete. never think you know everything.

Para hacerlo bien, envuelva alrededor de 25 a 35 vueltas de alambre magnético de calibre 18 en un trozo de ferrita de 1" x 1". Coloque un capacitor bipolar de 200 UF a 200 V paralelo al altavoz, luego coloque la bobina en serie con el altavoz y luego en paralelo a la línea añadir otro condensador bipolar 200uf @200v.

Guys , i hve made this one experimnt went i was kid, plis becarefull, if u plug into big subwoofer driver, the capasitor will burn out, or in other word, exploded , but its not bring any fire, but it cause lot of smoke and bad smell , however i have make one video which im build my rc car with woofer

series resonating the woofer inductance will greatly reduce effective load impedance, possi ly damaging or overloading the amplifier at frequencies near resonance! (not good)

Entao eu nao entendo muito nao mais muda um pouco o som cada capacitor filtra e sai um som diferente, mais tem alguns eu acho que e proprio pra bass so que diminue bastante o som

Wrong! To do it right, wrap about 25 - 35 turns of 18 gauge magnet wire on a piece of ferrite 1" x 1" put a 200UF @ 200v Bipolar Capacitor parallel to the Speaker, then put the coil in series with the Speaker, and then parallel to the line add another bipolar capacitor 200uf @200v .

depends on your amplifier and the output voltage of your amplifier power supply. however, you can use capacitors with voltage from 100v to 220v to apply to all amplifiers. in general, the higher the voltage value of the capacitor, the better the advantage of frequency transmission

Wrong. The capacitive reactance of a 1000uF capacitor is 8 ohms at 20 Hz. The interaction with the speaker impedance causes and increase above this frequency. This technique has been used in commercial loudspeakers before.
