In this video, I'll show you how to dynamically import data from Outlook to Excel using Power Query! This video is a must-watch for anyone looking to streamline their email data analysis or organization. Whether it's tracking sales emails, project ideas, or any other specific category, we'll show you how to set up a dynamic connection to Outlook that updates with a simple refresh in Excel. Say goodbye to manual data entry and hello to efficiency!
So anytime you want to get the latest email information, you just have to refresh your Excel table. And we'll also apply filters to only export specific emails to Excel and parse the contents so you only get the information you need from the emails. No VBA is used and no external add-ins. Instead I use a feature that belongs to Excel.
🔑 Key Steps Explained:
▪️ How to set up a connection from Excel to a specific Outlook folder.
▪️ Authenticating your Microsoft account to establish the connection.
▪️ Using Power Query to select and transform the relevant data from Outlook.
▪️ Applying filters to select specific data such as emails from a particular folder or with attachments.
▪️ Choosing columns like Subject, Sender Name, and Email Body to be imported into Excel.
▪️ Loading the filtered data into an Excel table for easy analysis and reference.
▪️ Refreshing the data in Excel to reflect new emails added to the Outlook folder.

Hi Leila, another wonderful lesson that really helps.
Never knew I could do so much with excel! I show off the excel skills I learn from your vids and your udemy course, at work! You’re a hero!!

What do I think? I think you rule! This is a solution to a problem that literally came across my desk today.

Excellent information Leila, thank you a lot ! It is useful, with unexpected positive advantages for the ones who choose to save e-mail messages in an alternative location. You know, Excel now is so powerful, so flexible, so capable, it is just a matter of time to see a video from someone, demonstrating that Excel can... cook a delicious meal :-))).

great video, I used it immediately, and did not realize the size of my mailbox...took me 20 mins to import all my data...over 18,000 emails. It did work, and I am in the process of fixing the reason why so many emails.

This is excellent! Very useful to record my daily output at work! Thank you!
Great video and great piece of Excel functionality. One of the rare times you see something that you can immediately see is going to be really useful.
Thanks so much! Needed to analyze high volumes of emails for text analysis and chatbot implementation - extracted all emails from a folder using VBA code and was figuring out my next steps, then I came across this. You've saved me a lot of time and I really appreciate you sharing your expertise!

I love this functionality! Quick question ... can this functionality also pull in daily scheduled emails that contain spreadsheets? If this is possible I'd like to dynamically analyze the spreadsheets. Just looking to see what's possible. Keep up the great work!
