    Aloe Vera maybe popular but there are other two Aloes that is widely cultivated worldwide - the Aloe Ferox and Aloe Arborescens. Both are potent medicinal Aloes even tagged as better than Aloe Vera. Aloe Arborescens features a concentration of active ingredients three times higher than that of Aloe Vera and so also a higher therapeutic activity. Aloe Arborescens Drinks and Juices are sold in the market at a relatively higher price compared with Aloe Vera.

    How would you find one of the other variety? Also I read aloe vera chinesis is not edible but good for skin and barbadensis which is the yellow flower variety is edible. There are 5 or so types of aloe vera I think. Using it as plant fertiliser is good also.

    Thanks for the video. I would really like to know whether the transparency of the gel determines the plant. I've seen veras with clear gel and some with murky gel. If you could do a video on that or response to this comment will be great.

  • @TheAloeVeraGarden

    @TheAloeVeraGarden

    3 жыл бұрын

    If you saw it in videos, sometimes it depends on the angle you are looking at, and yes sometimes it depends on the variety. Aloe Vera var. Chinensis tends to be murky and the Aloe Vera var. Barbadensis is clearer. Sometimes it depends on the freshness of the leaf. Aloe Vera var. Barbadensis can be murky too if it is not fresh anymore. It also depends on how old the leaf is. Older leaves can be murky and younger leaves have clearer gel. It also depends on the soil used, sometimes Aloe Vera gel has so many fibers compared with the others. I think I will make a video on this... thanks for the tip. :)

Now this topic has become very interesting to me, but I am afraid to use it for myself because I am not 100% sure that it is Aloe Vera. Can I send you a photo so you can confirm the variety of my Aloe? Or will it be difficult from the photo? Sorry for the mistakes, I am using a translator.

  • @maxbronin

    For me, the difficulty in identifying its variety arises from the fact that our plants have always been kept only indoors and in small flower pots. For this reason, they look different and never bloom, but nevertheless have leaf dots and leaf shapes like your Aloe Vera. But the leaves themselves are lighter, almost yellow, and the spines on mature leaves turn yellow-red, and the dots on the leaves never disappear. I think the dots always remain, because the leaves in a small pot never reach maturity.
