If you go hiking, tramping or do any extreme outdoor activities, You'll come to realize really quickly if you have an original Mudmaster or not.

Without a reference watch (original), it would be hard to detect a fake one. The video needs to focus on areas a buyer must pay attention to select an original without a watch to compare with. If you have an original one already, why would you buy another one.

I believe it would be nice to wear one that you could thrash around without the fear of being broken. I have several fake pieces and a few original. I wear them interchangeably depending where i go and my mood...

It's incredible the amount of work that must go in the making of these replicas. Makes you wonder why not just bite the bullet and start your own brand. I'd imagine creating your own designs would actually be easier than perfecting every edge and crease to match the original objects. People will still drop money on fashion watches if they like the design. I bought a Fossil that turned out to be fake. I was amazed to who would put all this work to fake a $150 watch?!

Big difference would be the casing construction, the chips design in the watch. If you were to built to the same quality as the original genuine piece, definitely would be no point, because price wise its no longer affordable for most people who are cash tight.

These guys make many watches that are cheap and good quality, I personally wore a casio stainless steel analog, and it's only 30 dollars, and would last decades. Now go buy a fake and watch it break in no time, buy another and before you know it, you'll get past 30 bucks. So in the end it's not worth it even if you're on a tight budget. This is all of course ignoring the obvious unethical nature of copying someone else's original work, that is the basis of copyright infringement, but who cares about ethics right ?

One more way you can say is that u should tap the glass panel, the fake one has a hollow plastic like sound. The real one has a very distinct sound since the display is made from quartz.

Since around 1990 I've owned at least 6 G-SHOCKS and I've never heard of a Marcos warranty before, are you saying every one of those are knock offs??? I don't think so!!!

Very simple for analog g-shock because fake at any grade never can counter clockwise during adjustment,and imo....you still need a fake g-shock only for strap replacement for the original one...just in case...

I normally only buy from proper places but this was an impulse buy as I needed a cheaper watch than the Fossil my Grandad got me who has since passed.

My father used to work for this company. He used to sell g shock but we could almost never get a gshock and if my father had to get it. He still had to pay for it

For me it's easy to compare with low grade copy like what your showed, but the highest grade copy, like they said copy 1:1 ori, that's need more attention than this low grade copy (fake) Hopefully you can compare it with an highest-rated copy (fake) g-shock. TQ..that's bothering me a lot.. Even when I buy an original still doubt it..it's hard to compare in my opinion..

The issue I have is to spot these fakes, you actually need a genuine one to compare.. On their own, it is near on impossible for the layman to figure out real or fake. I only buy from reputable outlets but lets not forget the online sites which you cannot examine before purchase and can leave many caught out.

You can really spot a fake G-Shock a few meters away. But OEM, it's another story. I bought an original g-shock and after 2 years, I saw the exact oem model online, and was 10% the price of the original. Out of curiousity, I bought it, and I can't even tell the difference. All features work just like the original, and it looks 100% like the original as well. It's still working after 2 years and counting.

We have yet to encounter any "OEM" which we suspect, is probably a real well made fake. As detailed in this video, the differences are subtle to the untrained eye but once you wear it or put it under stress/water, you can kiss your fake g shock goodbye!

Thanks for the heads up. I am an avid G-shock collector and did note that 2 of the warranty cards aren't the Marco factory stamp but simply says Casio Computer LTD. and mostly in Chinese. In your opinion does that automatically show its a fake?? I did carefully review ever detail of design and must say if this is a fake it's a damn good one. Which there was a better way to track a original...

2 years late but for anyone who want a G Shock but it's out of your price range, there are a cheaper alternative called Digitec, it's japan brand as well but assembled in china. Looks identical to almost every G Shock, example Digitec DG 5012T is similar to G Shock GX56BB. I can tell you Digitec is far more durable than fake G Shock. My brother has it for 6 years now and it still run, just need a strap and battery replacement tho. I think not as durable as G Shock but close, for fraction of a price.

I buy mine directly off Casio.com or Gshock website. I hear amazon also sells real g shocks but I hear rumors of fakes being sold on amazon as well. Walmart also sells real ones but the Walmart ones are made cheaper to accommodate the low price of Walmart. Casio website or gshock I can’t remember which, might be gshock website has a store locator that you place your zip code and will show you stores that sells official casios.
