I would definitely say don't judge an audition by how much experience they've had. We've had people come in who had long long lists of "experience" that were actually terrible and several people who came in with little to no experience who became our leads!

Harrison Ford was just there to read lines in the audition, he wasn't really an actor but Lucas loved him and coasted him as Han Solo

+PogieJoe are cast people good at detecting a good actor? in one of my films there was an actor who i thought was kinda lame but alot of people liked his acting the best....im confused
Thank! Extremely helpful! I'm in high school and putting together auditions at an arts center in my state. I'm both excited to see what actors I can find but also terrified of seeming unprofessional with it being a non-paid job for them, and this being my first short film. These tips have helped me think it through a bit. Thanks again!

I’m in the literal same position right now I’m holding an audition after school and I’m a bit nervous
I WISH casting directors were as cool as this haha
Super helpful. At Snap Audition we are learning a lot about casting auditions. We come from the music audition work and appreciate how much work actors put into auditioning, which seems to be a huge part of an actor's life.
This was a phenomenal video. Very much more informative than I thought. I came in knowing nothing about casting, but not I feel like I've learned a lot to make it easier for me, and them as well.
I was just clicking through videos about film making and found this. Though I didn't expect to watch it to the end, I did. Solid video.
Wish I would've watched this before I started my post for auditions. This is my 1st time holding auditioning. I just wrote a full film. I'll definitely apply this to my next one.

how did it go?
This is a really well put together video with a lot of helpful info. Thank you.
This is very insightful and helpful. We are working on our story for our future films and once our crew finishes the story and dialogues, we will be scouting for actors and actresses. Very excited to finally be able to share my visions...
Really great videos you guys are making!
REEEEEEALLY AWESOME!!
Thank you, that was really helpful in the most stressful of times when I have no help with pointing me in the right direction, after seeing your clip I feel that I now know what to do
This was a great video. Very informative.
Fantastic info. Thx guys.
Very well said. Thank you for this!
Great info! Catherine is such a pro :)
Very helpful for future projects!
Omg this was so helpful! Thank you so much.
Very good information. Thank you..
Really great information here. I think a great deal of holding a good audition is really just in having good common sense. Great to have a video like this breaking it all down though.
This really helps me understand an actor and how to work with them, as well as casting.
really good incite into something almost no one talks about. now i just need a project big enough for casting. thanks!

Great advice! good stuff
Thanks so much for this info. I am an aspiring and learning filmmaker, so maybe one day I won't have to cast, but either way I think that it's important for me to 'get' this critical role/talent! Thank you 😀🕺🏽🎥🏖🇦🇺
I love your videos!
Thank you so much!
Great production! Especially calling out whomever did a great job with the colors...jewelry, dress, BG, and they even matched her eyes! Well done guys! I did have a question: when someone comes in for an audition, other than the sides, how much, if any, of the script should they know? Or would you wait to see if the actor asks? Thanks! Steven
Funny, I just held one yesterday.

+knifebladepresents I've done a few of these now. If you overbook yourself to see someone every 2-3 minutes, you will have a comfortably full schedule of actors.

This video was great.
Very Useful. Thanks
My first experience with casting was horrible but I'm glad I failed in that regard because it's shaped me into a filmmaker where my cast needs to be on my level and the crew's. I don't like sets that are cliquey and where some people feel left out, especially for above the line connecting with bellow. My latest short (I feel like a dweeb saying that..) I met with the actors without having them read a single line from my script or any written work, we just shot the shit and talked. Once I get a feel of their personality and character traits, I can sense where I can mold them into the character desired as well as knowing what they can bring. Also, actors have friends who are other actors and that's also chemistry they already have. Like I said about my failed casting project, the actors were foreign to each other and the lack of chemistry showed. Anyway, I'm still learning and the next project I'll tackle it with a new method. Awesome videos yo!
Thanks so much this was super helpful! ^_^
Thank you very helpful.
Thanks great video
so helpful, thanks
Thank you!
I remember I didn't audition for the role of Kenickie in secondary school, I guess they just asked me and I agreed to take the part which was one of the best decisions I ever made. In my drama club I was given the role of Dr. Frankenstein, but I couldn't get the mad scientist personality so I switched with one of my friends and I had his part, Dr. Frankenstein's assistant and no it wasn't Igor haha
Thank you 🙏🏿😊

So, do you have a teleprompter or what ! ? You are an amazing presenter anyway.
Do you have suggestions on what to do when you are holding an audition for a project that you aren't paying people for?
Hey guys. Great video as always. I was curious to ask, how can I be able to become an actor?

I am now casting for a short film, except a side, what should also be included?
Hi RocketJump, what would you suggest for someone who doesn't have access to an empty room? I'm currently in school and so I don't really have a private place that I could go to conduct interviews. Thanks for your help.

+fozzarz Well... If it is a student film then your school library has private rooms.
Good tips. You wouldnt believe how many top UK CDs make some rookie errors when casting. They should watch this vid.
what should I put on a judges rubric?
whats the song that starts at 8:53 can someone please tell me?
This is for anyone who can answer this question. I had a friend who was casted for a role, but she later decided that the role wasn't right for her after reading the script. Hence why wouldn't we want to give the actors the whole script, so they know if the script is right for them?
I have a lot of projects in mind and don't wanna use the same actors so I might tell them that I could use them for something eventually.
This was very informative... but the background music was disruptive... (especially the organ music part)... I want to HEAR your tutorial, you explaining it... The video was great "Thank YOU".
How do I go about auditioning for a film?
I gave her a thumbs up because I like the way she looks :) oh yeah, the info was good, too.

Where was this, like, literally two weeks ago???
This is a great video ... but the background music was interfering with your voice... a little hard to hear you sometimes..

Why do all these films have a person in charge of casting? If I was the writer or director, I would really want to be in charge of casting.

what about if your short film has minimal dialogue
