The golf journey through practicing should be just enjoyable as playing a round of golf. All the work is done on the range so when you get on the course its all pre shot routine, feel and rhythm. Nothing better than executing a nice little fade the correct distance ending up next to your target!

So essentially keep the club face open and aim your feet left while swinging down the path of your feet

Are you changing forward shaft lean with this shot? I really struggle with fading irons but can’t draw my driver.

That’s a good question. For the draw I will push my hands & ball back slightly. For the fade I don’t move hands back and ball forward (fractionally) unless I’m struggling on that given day to hit my start lines and shapes perfectly. If I’m good I’ll play the fade from neutral opposed to changing anything significant

Hey chris , been playing the PSI for years , wanted 770s . Weren’t available and got the new 790s and they’re to chunky cannot hit them and went back to my psi. What 700 series iron do you think is most similar to the psi

I use the the same method but don't change my swing. I have to aim more left so the ball starts left of target. Learned that from a few great ball strikers. One being the first pro to get a hole a one on a par 4. I can't for the life of me remember his name right now. He played with Jack and only lost most of time because the yips with the putter. Johnny Miller! He like that little fade for taking a little off when between clubs. I do the opposite for draws. I have been working on swing inside out and it does get better results and higher trajectory. But have an issue getting my straight ball swing back. Then when I do i struggle getting the the draw swing back. So I just try and keep the same swing. For me it is more consistent. It is really hard to be consistent with one swing. Adding two more, well, I'm not that good. Once I burn in a swing memory..... it stays burned in. It take several tries to do the others and even more to do them right. I know how to do them both ways, i do practice swings and visualize. Yet when I get over the ball and hit the shot in a round, the neutral swing sneaks in. My swing hits the ball straight.

@@tigertim9232 I am pretty sure I touched on that in my post. I don't think you read my post. If you did I don't think you put much effort into understanding what I said. My main point is that I have tried path and can't do it. I wish I could master all the different swings. But I can't. I have however mastered one path and do quite well with it. For me, muscle memory overrides imagination. If I visualize what I know I can do well, it works. And quite well I might add.

@@tigertim9232 Mastered one path. Lets just be clear about that. And no, I'm no Tiger with it. As I said I do quite well with it. Let me put it another way. As much as I will ever be able to. Doing only one path all the time makes that more possible. Because golf is fucking hard. Soooo i will take a bow because yes. I have been very successful with it considering I'm no pro and old as dirt. If you want to try and learn i8 different swings, by all means, I won't stop you or even try. To each his/her own. I will even wish all the luck in the world.

Alignment sticks aren't for the ground. They are to stick in the ground in front of you. Start line shows neutral. Can use two for a gate (vary width depending on ability) or just one.

  • @chuckyz2

For ball path. For body abd club path alignment they are for the ground. But to each their own. Pros put them on the ground. You do it your way. I don't think anyone would complain. Especially your opponents. They will be like, hey that's a great idea then later laugh all the way to the bank with your money. Most amatuers think they are lined up and are not. Even pros have to keep checking it. Sticks on the ground help a lot with body and feet alignment.

@@chuckyz2 Your body will organise itself naturally around a clear intention. Golf is a sport where you "should" react to a target/image. However lots of golfers fall victim to the internal mindset of trying to line this up with this, that with that because the ball is stationary. Pretend it is moving slightly and get your whole body reacting dynamically to that. If you need any further information on "alignment" go check out ZenGolfMechanic or ask Randy Joyner where the sticks should go 😉. A sure way to get golfers hitting better shots and reaching their own full potential....external focus, listen to rorys latest interview b4 dpworld 2021, how he even got away from that.

Give us a break we have to play behind players all the time doing all this checking, re-checking, just get up and hit the ball. It is called ready golf, new to you?
