6 is the longest iron but I sometimes add my 5 iron if I want something to punch out or run out. If I get more confident with my 5 then it could make more appearances. Good content in this video. Stance set up is something I worked on with my coach today. I didn't understand the benefits of changing body alignment throughout the bag. After doing it though the results are terrific. More ball speed, more distance, easier swing and more repeatable throughout the bag. Good stuff.

Longest iron is my 4, but I have a 3 driving iron. In regards to how I hit it, it actually hit it pretty good, but I’m positive I can get another 15 yards out of it. I took over 10 years off, so I’m almost starting from scratch. The positives, I forgot the bad habits i had before I stopped, and was able to kinda start fresh. First step was get fitted and I’m glad I did, because I would have likely considered GI clubs, which would have been a huge mistake. Got into the p790s. The other top contender was the mizuno 923 forged. I hit them extremely good and in hindsight, probably should have gotten them, but I’m just used to TaylorMade, since that’s what Ive had. Still very happy with what I have, but I probably should have gone combo 790/770. Anyway been striking my irons very good, my woods equally good. My biggest issues are driver consistency and chipping. But yes… golf is very hard, you need so many different swings for different clubs, and it’s so easy to get into your head and make it seem like you are lost and forget how to do anything right.

like to hear about the de plane…have an old 3i for rocky shots back into fairway or under trees 4i mizuno HMB that i hit best on uphill lies or off tee, else low slicey hits, 5i-PW mizuno forged. 5-6 not awful but the fade often

Great breakdown bruh! I definitely feel less digging and more sleepy with the 3 and 4 when they’re in the bag…but I do love the hybrid too. Not to say there’s more options with the way I play with the hybrid, but the benefits of having one club cover for two kind of convinced me. But yes please… D plane video Coach!!!

I tried putting a 4i back in the bag but couldn't get the distance I wanted so went to a 7w. I do what ypu said at the end of the video. I pull my short irons and fade my long irons.

4 iron is my longest. Where I play there is one par 3 where it'll get used more often than not. But apart from that, it doesn't come out very often. If I lay up, I'll hit a 6 iron, because its easier to hit. Use my hybrid even less though TBF.

Never heard "D plane" before, so yes an explanation and possible video would be great, may not be for all golfer, but the more we know the better we can understand what is happening with the swing.

Longest iron is a 5, then go to 7 wood and 4 wood (actually 3 wood set to 17 deg loft).

5 iron rarely comes out of the bag, and I've only hit it clean three times in 5 years 😂

As I suspected, when you side-by-side synchronised the PW and 4i, you swung them at the same speed, which , I believe is correct. You said that you swing the long iron faster. Did you mean to say the club head speed is faster? (covering more distance in the same time). I think my biggest fault when I started was trying to swing the 4i faster, which meant I missed it quicker.

My swing is longer with the 4 iron and swinging faster which makes them look the same speed as they start and finish at the same time. Club head speed is definitely faster as clubs get longer.

With hybrids and 5 & 7 woods no need for a long iron really .. and I just got fitted for irons and wish I had never even got a 4 & 5 iron .. I never even hit them .. unless I need to punch out 😂
