Am I the only one who watched it atleast 10 times and just don't understand? The first swift-ish flip esp... Her hands covered most of the action! Please help! I really want to get that look

Hi love, once you get it its so easy! Push in the bobby pin without opening the pin. Alot of people open the bobby pin but you don't have to! Wish it would have worked for you! xx

All you have to do is stick it in parallel to the direction of the hair you are pinning, opposite the direction in which it is being pulled. Push the pin in at an angle into the braid/twist section to make sure it’s grabbing onto the hair/roots of the unincorporated hair underneath . With the right color pins it will blend in even if it doesn’t completely disappear. You may need more pins than she uses depending on your hair type and the size of the piece you are pinning, but one per twist or two per braid (bottom and top) is a good baseline. My hair is fine and straight so it took a little bit to get a feel for it but it honestly looks and feels better than the flip 180 method. My hair hasn’t quite gotten long enough to pull it all up and because I work outdoors I needed it out of my eyes and use a variety of twists and braids to do so. I didn’t much like the look of exposed Bobby pins and this helped me to remedy that.

Amazing advice! But can you tell me how with very thin fine hair, I can prevent little bits of scalp showing near where bobby pins are placed? My hair is very sparse.

I recently learned that the wavy side of the bobby pin goes against the scalp for more security. I think she had the smooth side against the scalp.

Well, first, the reason bobby pins have the wave is to catch the hair & grip it. It's suppose to go in wavy side down. Bobby pins are designed with that *toe** to catch the hair, and not open it to put a chunk of hair into it, itll keep it open & not grip well. Wave down, insert closed, weave, then push in ever what way works best, twist or flip it then if you like.

I just need to learn how to use them in general, because my new job requires my surfer hair to be in a bun with a hair net but it's not long enough and some parts fall out, and they get mad.
