I used one of Riaz's tips as an answer to a job interview question. Employer: What do you think would be a challenge you'd face while working with us? Me: One thing I do is listen to people when they talk, but sometimes people give me so much information that I have a hard time remembering everything they say. However, I've found that when I try to remember the most important thing they tell me instead of trying to remember everything they say, I'm more likely to get something good out of the conversation.

Nice work! I really like your tips to create connections. I'd like to know more about the first tip, making them feel famous, and how that connects to the three things that make people happy. Can you give some examples of what you would say in that regard? Thanks!

Thanks for the question Catherine. 'Making People Feel Famous' is all about shining the spotlight on the person in front of you. Knowing what they're all about, their top 'headlines' of what's happening in their life so you can ask them about it, finding ways to creatively recognize their contributions and above all leading with gratitude. Sometimes we may not have that information when meeting a new person - hence the three motivating triggers behind happiness - something to do, someone to love and something to look forward to - which are great areas to ask about to keep the spotlight on the person in your conversation and learn about what matters to them. Hope this helps :)
