Hi does turning the key to start the flow crush the bees as when I look in the bees are sometimes still in the holes where the honey is, Do i also have to wait until the the flow frame is full prior to harvesting?

Is it ok to harvest all the frames at the same time? Can you stop at half a frame or must you harvest the whole frame to avoid the rest dripping back into the hive? How are you keeping the bees from swarming the open honey jar? When I last did this thousands of bees came out the front and continually swarmed the jars even though we had covered them with plastic wrap.

Hello, are you able to fit a round top bee feeder underneath the gabbled roof for the 8 frame hive? They sell both 10.5" and 8.5" round feeder. Would the 8.5" fit under the 8 frame gabbled roof?

Are the materials weather proof? Is it termite proof? Chemicals used to treat the woods might be harmfull to the bees. Please explain on that.

If you split and harvest a frame, the wax caps remain in place. How do the bees know to uncap and refill?

  • @FlowHive

Hey Johnnie, you can't harvest the wax with Flow frames unless you get a Hybrid flow hive, which has 4 traditional frames in the super, and you can harvest from these. Alternatively you could also add a second brood box or ideal (half depth box) to your Flow hive and harvest wax from it. - Danika

You can buy the hive kits from their website. I believe they can ship to most countries. If you dont want a link, try googling “flow hive” to get directed to their website. The flow hive 2 featured in this video starts at $899AUD, plus postage & any other accessories you might want to add to your purchase

Prateek Laddha with $1AUD being 51.27 indian Rupee, you are looking at about 46,200. However with these hives, you wont need to buy a wax knife, frame centrifuge, all the cleaning & sterilising gear you need to keep those machines operating- which would be well over 1000,000 rupee if you dont have access to someone elses.

the quality of the craftsmanship is clear to see. Imagine the research and testing which was required for perfecting this design, not to mention the patent costs. If you want a cheaper product buy a traditional hive and have fun with the hours and hours of extra work 😅

I know many beekeepers from Arab world who need to know about Flowhive videos but the language still a problem for them, so since I am a beekeeper ,translator and video subtitler I can help you to increase your Arabic audience by adding Arabic subtitle to all your videos for a good rate.

I hear there is a cheaper one being produced, different design but same results.!, Ok, I’m telling lies, I have not heard that, but if It was to happen I would go and buy one.... please drop your price before someone produces something similar and you loose your customers (and respect)

Yes FLO did the research, and paid for patents. Surely THEY have made enough money now, and some!! The only people ripping of anyone is FLOW! They can keep their gadget, there will be more. Thanks for letting me know about the Chinese replicas though. Oh, and your right, I would not know the difference between honey and syrup because I’m not into bee keeping and would never be if I was looking to FLOW to get started. I would rather use you but like I said before, if I find a cheaper product doing the same thing, I’m going with that... and let’s be honest, looking at the reviews and other videos online of the FLOW product, finding one that’s a bit better quality can’t be hard.😎

The higher the cost the better the perceived value of the product in marketing, lower price may (not all the time but more often) indicate inferior product (may have flaws, quality control issues, may not stand the test of time etc) eg have to pay a lot for Apple products, not so much for Samsung etc

  • @TheSummersProject

twinkitten1 as much as the product is a good idea, the quality is not great. Seen many reviews. Bits break of and it’s very cheaply made. I love the idea, and the videos I just think they should give people a product that’s top quality for the price they are charging. I appreciate that they have paid for marketing and bringing the product to market but it’s been out for a few years now and they have made more that their money back with lots of profit. It’s just greed now!

The Summers Project greed is no good have to take csr into account, but at the end of the day the customer regulates prices and the market demand so it's up to the customer ....unless it's a monopoly
