HOW TO HARVEST & STORE LEMONGRASS

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I show you how I harvest lemongrass 3 ways and store them in order to have a supply for the winter. If you live in a cooler region prone to frost, you might be thinking about bringing a lot of your favorite tropical herbs and plants in. Lemongrass can be grown indoors during but they need a lot of sunlight and warmth to be vigorous, otherwise they will just go dormant under the right conditions. Because I have east facing windows that get limited sunlight each day, the lemongrass won't grow well in my home. Instead, I like to harvest them and store them several ways so that I have a nice supply all winter until the weather warms up the following season. Each way I prepare the lemongrass is used for a different application of cooking, consuming. I hope you enjoy this video. Take care!

Great video. Lemongrass is easily one of my favorite teas. I always keep at least one plant around just for that purpose. I also love vietnamese food and one of my favorite dishes has the lemongrass infused beef...if only I knew how to make it. Now that my lemongrass is overgrown though, I was looking at ways to harvest and use the stalks. Thanks so much for the video and the tips!

Thank you so much for sharing this❣️ I found your video through searching for harvesting and processing Lemongrass. I finally grew a patch of Lemongrass this year because it is one of my favorite herb flavors and I love it in soups. I so wanted to experience having fresh Lemongrass. I live in zone 5a and will be harvesting it soon. I like that you can put it in little bundles and freeze- such an easy way to put it in a soup!! Do you know if you can dehydrate Lemongrass? We dry many of our herbs in the dehydrator but I don’t want to do it if it will diminish the flavors in Lemongrass. Also, now that I have watched your video, I am thinking about potting up a small bunch and bringing it in over winter. This video was very helpful, I appreciate all that you shared, thanks again 💚💛🩵🤍💜
