I'm from P.R... do you know how to cook plantains?.. if not look for videos in you tube.. They are delicious with salt and garlic..are our French fries.. lol.. you also can fry green bananas like plantains..first fry a dice piece med temp. Then flat them with a plate and fry again until crispy.

Yes we have plantains growing. We also like to eat the green dwarf Cavendish bananas. We cut them and fry them like fries
When you say upside down, do you mean opposite of how they were hanging on the tree?

Yes
After you cut off the rack, cut the remaining tree as fodder for pig...they really likes it.

I will try that when we have pigs again. Thank you
What do you do with all of them? How do you eat them all before they rot?

Thanks for watching. We freeze them. We use the for baking or smoothies. We also give a ton of them away to friends. Have to share the bounty. Lol

I make lots of banana and smooth peanut butter smoothies and freeze in ziplock bags by patting them down flat for easy breaking. Whenever you need just a bit, just snap off or use a knife to cut through the flat block. Thaw lightly, add milk or ice cubes and enjoy.
Does it attract a lot of bugs and ants?

Not more than any other fruiting plants.
When you chop a Banana Tree down , does it smell like a banana? Nice rack of banana's by the way.

Marcus Moss LoL no it doesn’t. I never thought of that. Great question.
Not true... I have plants that have fruited multiple times.. They're on a steep grade so I leave then be..I cut the ones I can get to down after the first bunch anyway...otherwise they get way too big...

We have never had any fruit more than once. They die after fruiting.

@@FoodForesters I know. That's what I've always thought. My 2 plants seem to refute that 🤷... And, driving around I've seen other really large plants with bananas. It's hard to imagine that would be the first time for plants 10-12 feet tall, but who knows?
