It was a “Aaah...” along with the thought... “ I hope I’ve done this properly so I don’t land flat on my back!!”😂

This is exactly my plan!! Yay, nice to see. I hadn't planned on varnish, but that would help them last alot longer. I've put in about 30 bushes and trees and my ground is pretty much granite boulders, so this should be fun.😬

thank you for this video. I'll be doing that this week. I think I'll use 4x4 or 6x6 for the posts. I'm hanging a double hammock that holds upto 450lb or 206kg

I am thinking on using larger poles, to use them for a tent over the hammock. And I prefer not using those rings screwed to the pole, but using hammock straps instead, so I can choose how high or low I tie the hammock. And, if I put 3 poles in a triangle shape, I can hang 3 hammocks.

The post were about 8ft tall, by a good 10" in diameter. They are sunk 2ft in the ground. Thanks for watching. Chris

Can I ask did you use anything else apart from concrete? I tried to install a post in the ground with some concrete and gravel but after a few days and using the hammock, the post moves, could the type of soil be an issue?

James Ramos It could be the soil, but I would say its more likely the concrete mix. Make sure your hole is deep enough and wide enough. I think the hole I dug were around 2 ft deep and about 1ft wide, but that will depend on your post size. Also you will probably get a better snug fit around the post by using postcrete. You dig the hole, fill up partly with water, position your post, then pour a couple of bags of postcrete in until you have no more standing water. It sets in about 5 mins, so it gives you enough time to make sure your posts are straight. I then back filled the top 4 inches around the posts with soil back up to ground level. Hope that helps.

May I ask where you purchased you tree trunks for the hammock, finding it difficult to find someone

Bob Willis I got them from a local saw mill/lumber yard called Nelson potter, near woodbridge, suffolk. But managed to get hold of small-ish size logs before they were going to be machined up. I looked for ages online! I couldn't find anyone who sells natural wooden posts! You need to find some where that does the logging side of things, before they get cut up. Unless you happen to have a couple of small pine trees you could cut down yourself? Hope that helps...

Go to the woods in spring and cut down some trees leave them there to dry for the summer and go back to get them in the fall. There is no need to pay for things that nature provides. In fact its a bit silly to do so.

Yeahhh, you obviously don't live in the UK. We are not allowed to go to the woods to randomly cut down trees here -now THAT would be a silly thing to do!

You should buy yourself an actual hammock in order to thoroughly relax, not the americanized version with a spreader bar. The spreader defeats the purpose of buying a hammock. If you buy a quality hammock and lay in it correctly, it doesn't caccon around you. Plus, you'll never have to worry about flipping yourself, or a friend, face first onto those rocks

I put money into a Nags Head Hammock and have the best pillow top hammock that supports both the wife and I together. It also has the spreader bar and is the most comfy. Worth the $300 I paid for it. Hard to put a price on comfort after a hard weeks work.

Posts should 10 feet long and be 4 feet deep as well as 12 feet apart so that you can use other style hammocks between them if you want. Im sorry to be negative but this was a terrible video.
