    Spirulina has a high protein and vitamin content, which makes it an excellent dietary supplement for people on vegetarian or vegan diets. Each 100 gram serving of spirulina has 57 grams of protein. To make it even more super, spirulina is also packed with iron, vitamin B, and other essential trace minerals. Per ounce, spirulina is 65 percent protein. ... In fact, spirulina protein is four times more absorbable than protein from beef.... here we go bodybuilders....!!!!

    Not actually vitamin B, pseudovitamin B. This takes up the space needed for vitamin B which is potentially harmful.

    Can you do a video specifically on germination through seedlings for transplant into a deep water or other hydroponics system. I'm using rockwool but having issues. Can you address heat, water and light needs starting from seed? Also how big before transplant into hydro?

  • @SpicyMoustache

    @SpicyMoustache

    3 жыл бұрын

    Sure, I’ll do that and thank you for the idea! When you start from seed, you just need heat and humidity. Once they pop out, you’d need to put some lights or they will start stretching. You can transplant them into hydro once the root system is developed. What I mean is to have at least a small root mass. Otherwise, I started seeds directly into hydro, even by placing a seed straight into clay pebbles and never had any issue. What kind of issues are you experiencing with rock wool?

    Is spirulina the cheapest source of protein? It seems you need to get a special spirulina mineral mix, it would be nice if there was a seaweed that simply worked with random rocks (where the alkaline solution will leak the minerals needed into the solution). Also can you drink the spirulina or maybe put it in oatmeal? I wish there was some sort of an edible microscopic life form that eat flour, maybe even wood dust and turned it into protein somehow. I wonder if there is a microscopic life form that eats oils, or sugars and turns them into protein.

    They usually come with a specific feed which will be enough to feed your spirulina or you can buy it separate on ebay. Zarrouk Medium, is the name of this one but many other variations on a healthy formula for ph can be found online. After the harvest, you won’t need to use anything but just use it fresh or dry it.

    I’d suggest to use a cheese cloth or the aquarium nets work great :)

    If you grow spirulina at home will it contain heavy metals?

    Nope, just don’t use tap water and you should be fine! However, I don’t recommend consuming it if you are not sure about the water content.

    if you have to replace the same amount of spirulina that you remove, it seems it's not growing then. if it is, there should be more than what you put in

    Hmmm interesting. If I have some of these in the room I am living in and let them use the co2 from my breathe to increase their biomass (you lose weight primarily by breathing out extra carbon molecules not excreting waste) then I eat the algae I've created a system of symbiosis with the plant and I'd be eating a plant comprised partly of my breathe.

    Hey, sorry I missed it. You need the powder to feed it, a jar, water and a breathable cover
