Dig the upper layer of soil and add banana peel water. Give onion skin peels and water it. You will see the plants start to grow.

@@cpmvideosyt typically commercially grown citrus are modified to not have seeds as this is preferred by the buyer. Might have to grab one from somewhere that isn’t commercially farming them.

I love planting from seed. I have grown 3 avocado plants, no fruit but the plants are so pretty. They are growing tall in 2 years but the trunks are just skinny stalks. I am only doing it for fun.

No, seeds from citrus are a hybrid. Most species of citrus can cross pollinate, so it could be a mix of orange, satsuma, lime, lemon, etc you don't know. Even with species which are self pollinating there is a lot of variables. Most commonly sold fruit come from the same exact mother plants, they are cloned to ensure quality. When grown by seed taste can vary significantly, and the tree may never fruit at all (it does happen). Ideally you want a grafted plant which can be found at local home improvement stores, or a Walmart ranging anywhere from $25-$45 depending on the age. Citrus trees do not, not will they ever fruit in the first 7 years, in fact they are typically covered in thorns, they lose the thorns, and just like kids grow into adults trees too will mature and bear fruit once they hit the 7-ish year mark. It's not worth spending 7 years just to find out the seed planted bears fruit which would be considered inedible (if it fruits at all).

I doubt it, being a tropical..but cold doesn't seem to hurt oranges of Florida so much as direct frost 🤷
