I have seen monkey trees that are fifty feet tall but they are very rare in the NW USA so you mostly find small trees. They are a beautiful plant and there are many images on Google of larger trees.

People who have seen my pictures of my seedlings have said to get that cane out. Some are about 6 inches and others have bifurcated, but my young ones are nice and green, but some bent and just lent over. What should I do. I have really big canes and really thin like chop sticks size. Should i just leave the all alone until their bigger? I really need advice

I planted a few near a downstairs window as protection when I lived in SE Portland, Oregon. They work well!

Hi thank you for your video! The only thing is you said you cant ever touch them and you did touch the monkey tree! I'm thinking what you meant is their branches are sharp and you can touch them just use gloves if you'd like, but be careful of the sharp branches. I live in Washington and there are Monkey trees here that do not freeze out! The two I see near by are huge and tall! One is in my front yard and it stands well above our 2 story house in height! So I know that with your helpful information, you should know to help you with facts since you do garden and shared this beautiful video, that these two things you talk about were not correct and in fact you can touch a Monkey tree with precautions and they do thrive in Washington! Thank you and have a blessed day!

nice little tree. i found 1 in scotland, it is massive, if i was to take pics and measure the girth, bearing in mind the cold climate, could you put a rough age on it, do you think?

I got my monkey tree seeds from RCC and gonna try n plant them in my backyard. The Incas used to eat these as nuts..I'm not sure how they would toast them though.

alex leon people here in Chile still eat them actually! One way is just to boil them in water for a good 20-30 minutes, peel it, and eat it. Or I like to grind them up to add to pesto.
