How to Grow Delonix regia / Flamboyant Tree / Gulmohar/ Krishnachura From seed II 20 Day Update

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Description for Gulmohar, Delonix Regia----
The flamboyant flame tree provides welcome shade and spectacular color in the warm climates. The attractive, semi-deciduous leaves are elegant and fern-like. Also known as Royal Poinciana or a flamboyant tree, a flame tree is one of the world's most colorful trees. Every spring, the tree produces clusters of long-lasting, orange-red blooms with yellow, burgundy or white markings. Each bloom, which measures up to 5 inches across, displays five spoon-shaped petals. Handsome branches with feathery foliage and flamboyant scarlet-orange blossoms in late spring and early summer. A semi-deciduous tree native to the island of Madagascar, it is drought and salt-tolerant, making it among the quintessential trees for tropical landscapes, rivaled for its fame only by the coconut palm.
Common name---
Flamboyant Tree, Flame Tree, Gulmohar, Delonix Regia, Flamboyant Tree, Flame Tree, royal poinciana, flamboyant, Krishnachura, Ke mpu torai, Peacock, fire tree; flamboyant; the flame of the forests; flame tree; gold Mohar; peacock flower; poinciana; read-tree; royal Gulmohar; royal peacock; royal poinciana, Arbol del Fuego; clavelino; flamboyant

    I got 5 seeds. Put them each in a pot of 5 year old soil for a few weeks keeping them watered then put them into fresh soil and a few days later had 5 trees :) no peroxide, nothing, theyre all growing really well.. one of them bent over and started flowering under the soil then the flower turned into roots and the base it continuously growing upwards but also looks like dead roots at the top... its so weird, it looks like a babies umbilical cord!! But it keeps growing... truly fascinating

    Thanks for the video. I tried an adapted version of your method of soaking in tissue paper. I first used a mini power tool with an abrasive head to carefully remove both ends of the seed. I only went down until I could just see the white inside of the seed. I did this in gradual steps as I did not want to overheat the seeds with the abrasive head. I then soaked the seeds for about 5 hours in water (at room temperature). After soaking, I wrapped the seeds in damp tissue paper and placed the tissue paper in a plastic bag. I then kept the bag at room temperature in the dark. Wow. After 6 days all three seeds had thrown out shoots. I have planted these seeds today and will wait to see if anything grows.

Every time i water the trees, like every single time, the leaves get yellowish color and after a few days they will start to fall. Any tips on what I might do wrong? The water drains very well, and i always empty the tray under the container.

    Hello Ayanta! I wanted to ask you a question, you seem like a great expert in this type of tree. I just started growing my own for three months and it is going great! Except now the trees leaves are turning yellow and falling off quite a bit. Does this tree shed this time of year? Or should I be changing the soil? Also are you keeping your trees inside with a grow lamp or outside in the natural sun or in a sunny window? I'm worried that all the leaves are falling off so quickly maybe you know some solutions? Thank you so much I've been searching for the right answer!!

    Royal Poinciana is from Madagascar and needs full sun to grow and bloom. also, overwatering is probably the most common cause of yellowing leaves on seedlings and cuttings in my experience. I'm lucky living in FL, just planting one of these outside and leaving it alone gets beautiful results.

I checked them nearly everyday but no progress they looks teh same so left them for a few days just checked if they were wet. Then today I checked and the plant had grown already seed leaves and it's first set of leaves I was shocked because I don't notice any growth until today. And its a lot of growth.

    First of all i did not scarify the seeds... If you scarify the seeds.. Then you have to do it carefully. Soak the seed into water for 24 hour. The seeds are really hard and sometimes the seeds are not soak into water. Then you scarify the tips of the seed little.And secondly it's not mandatory to use peroxide. It protects from fungal attacks. I hope my methods will help you. Thanks for comment.

    If you using my method, you don't have to water every day. Keep in warm placs inside your room, & the box should be air tight. Don't need to make hole in the box. When you are planting the seedlings, you make a hole in the pot. Thank you friend, I hope you subscribe my channel.

    What happens if you accidentally soak the seeds for more than 24 hours? Can you mist them with homemade fungicide=H2O, Dawn dish soap, baking soda and vege oil or must use peroxide? I have never used a fungicide with any seed germination but I think this is a great idea! Do you know if this works with all other seed germination?

  • @thebonsaizonegardening

    @thebonsaizonegardening

    5 жыл бұрын

    5 Or 6 hour soaking extra will not damage the seeds, but more than, it will probably damage the seed, i have use peroxide & other fungicides powder, yes you can mix fungiside into H2O. You can use in other seed germination, I have done it, i never used dish soap, baking soda & vege oil, so I can't comment on that. With my little experience, i can say this information, thanks for your comment, i will upload more video soon, hope that you subscribe my channel, plz keep supporting me.
