Can I cut these back half way through summer ? I deadheaded them and they’re starting to burn which makes me wonder if I can still take them all the way back down to the ground ?

It might be Powdery Mildew, so worth looking at that. And yes we have sometimes cut ours back early.

I've been given some seedlings - how much space should I leave around each one when planting?

Yarrow (Achillea) will spread so 30 - 60cm (12 - 24inches) depending on how quickly you want it to fill in.

Yes, it can get out of control depending on the type, as well as soil/climate. We are removing some of ours at the moment as it is crowding out Agastache and Santolina which for us are much better behaved.

I'm giving up on mine, they're just not worth it 😏
