Comfrey is both over rated and under rated. Under rated for what it can do for your land but over rated for medicinal benefit. I grow it and sell it and probably always will. People buy it and buy a lot of it which is the major motivation for me to grow anything. I've used it to heal cuts but am skeptical of it being used to heal broken bones. I think its the mucilaginous material which serves as an ointment for cuts. I've yet to see a peer reviewed study of its medicinal benefit though. I am currently planting 20 acres largely with comfrey to enrich the soil and of course to sell finished product.
