A way my teacher describes how to do the equation: the reason why you want to write down the “opposite” is because you want the (x-h) to equal 0..... so say (x-5)=0 you add 5 to both sides and you are left with x=5 thats an explanation of why you get the opposite. Then you cross that out and you are left with y= (in his case) 2.
