If the cable is too long you can also get a much shorter RCA cable that is maybe only half a meter long or even shorter. When you have a model that has only 2 RCA outputs (yellow and white) you can even use a stereo RCA cable and connect it. That will work since RCA cables don't care what signal you send through so the color doesn't matter. it's just a visual indicator for which end you plugged in where.even better when it's a cable with angled RCA / Chinch plugs

It’s called the silver service, Arnold machinery company. I’m pretty sure that’s not the name of it I think it was one of those gifts that people get working at companies. But if you want the dimensions of it. It is 3 1/2 inches tall by 1 3/4 wide.

The ion 2 sd does not have a playback function no. If you want a playback feature I recommend the clearclick video2 digital 2.0

One that I have actually used for a few years is the ion video 2 pc it works pretty good too but you have to get it second hand I think now on eBay

This kind of approach could have uses going the other way on the quality scale. I’ve been working with image processing AI, and if the tape portion does work or you copy the footage to a tape, you can use the two versions to train a model. You’ll still be limited by the quality of the image produced by the camera sensor, but you should be able to get some interesting results.

Yes I believe it’s either your camera or the cable it comes with. For me it seemed like it would happen with some cameras but others it was fine. The av out on your camera might be damaged or dirty as well.

quick question for you! I have the same set up for my VX2100 but for some reason the footage comes back kinda glitchy when I transfer it on to my PC. do you know what the problem is or know how to fix it!?

and not like green screen glitchy more like random pauses to a gray block and than goes back to normal and usually only happens the first 30 seconds of the video or doesn't happen at all

Make sure you have a sd card in and make sure it’s not full on memory. If that doesn’t work it definitely sound defective and I would send it back at least email ion telling them your problem and they might send you a new one

Might sound stupid but does it make a difference if you have a tape in the tape deck when recording from the ion sd 2?

So here are a couple things I recommend. The ClearClick converter is more expensive but differently worth it. and the ion video 2 sd is a cheaper way to go about it, but you don't have s-video output on it. S-video was pretty much HDMI before it was out. So S-video is going to give you better video quality. Just make sure if you do get the ClearClick converter you have the two audio cables plugged in (the red and white cables on the component cables.) Because S-video is only video. so if you only have S-video plugged in you wont have any audio. If you have any other questions Just let me know. Hopefully this was helpful. It is a component a person could add to their FPV headset for capture if it didn't natively capture to micro SD. It takes a regular AV video "yellow line" and records it to micro SD card. Unfortunately I haven't tested it yet, but this reminder will definitely put my butt in to gear

I’m not sure if you can find this on amazon still. If you do get this make sure to get a different set of av cables. The ones this comes with are faulty and usually have video and audio issues

Yeah so that means you have mono audio if you only have yellow and black. You might want to try a different av cable and see if you can get any color out of it. If not your camera or tv is messed up

This is all great, of course, but all you are doing with it is turning beautiful VHS cameras into old digital ones. That is, you just re-create Digital8. I don't really understand why you have to do it a second time, pay for it and fiddle with the capture card connection. In my opinion, it's much easier, more efficient and valuable to buy both VHS-C\VHS and conditional Digital8, etc.

Yes I call those a 3-1 av cable one side looks like a headphone jack and the other side is the 3 yellow red and white cables. Now there sometimes is a problem with cameras that use the single av out plug-in. Sometimes the audio has a weird glitchy noise so the way that I get around that is you have to unplug either the red or white audio plug ins from the converter. Depending on what cable is making that noise. and it should stops that noise. Only problem is you’ll only have mono audio. I’m honestly not sure why it happens.
