How to Get Your Products in Magazines
It can be hard to get the word out about your products once you've produced them. In this video we talk about our experiences getting press over the years, and magazines featuring our leather goods. Getting your products in magazines is a lot less of a worry these days, but that press can still be a huge help if you combine it with your own social media and other advertising techniques that do not require money. You can also hire a publicist! This is a departure from our normal leather crafting videos, so let us know if you want us to share more!

I've made 4 wallets and am continuing my projects everyday. I honestly give this channel all the credit for things I have made and the knowledge I needed to get this far. keep it up!!
Man, I'm loving how quickly Eric has become comfortable speaking to us. I love the stories and experiences he's been telling us about.
I tried to make leather items myself after watching you videos. I succeeded in making various patterns and now i am thinking of developing my hobby into earning. Thankful to you for your inspiration and motivational videos. From INDIA 🇮🇳
This really speaks to me - for real. Our products never really got featured in any magazine, or in any features websites online. For almost 3 years nobody has invited us for an interview or even gave us an opportunity to tell our story. Given those challenges, I vowed to myself to bet on our handcrafted leather items and poured my heart and soul into it. And we are rewarded by now our followers in our social media platforms, in FB, IG and now in KZread. You sir, are truly an inspiration to me. You really motivate me in a lot of ways and I thank you for that.
Awesome design! Got into leather working a few years back thanks to watching this kind of stuff! And great insight into marketing
Thank you so much for your content. I’ve learned so much and I wish the best for you and your brand. Also, the your voice just adds to it.
Man, I've been following you for some time, but when you've started adding commentary I fell in love with your videos!
This was a great way to do this tell a story while making awesome work love what you do thanks for the time you put in to share your skills
In my line of WK its word of mouth and given the customer the best product and quality. Our quality goes out before our name does and we stand by it. That's just my company we got more WK than we can handle so we just give it to our friends that are the way we are.thank YALL great job on all y'all do.
The best info I gained from this video is that Weaver has a splitting service! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that offered on their site. Then the multiple weights from the same hide option....🤯🤯🤯. Thank you so much for sharing your talents. Your videos are fantastic.
I know this vid is 3yrs old, but I'ma Newbie and I love this channel, Have learned SO MUCH. Thx for all you do!
I been watching your channel for about a month. I literally have been working with t shirts. I'm starting to work with guys who make leather products so I am now pursuing a career out of trucking so I can do something I love. Thanks.
cool unique design, enjoying the narrated videos! Learning something new every video cheers!
Thanks SO MUCH for your vids. You're good people ❤️
Great video. I always appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience. Awesome work as always.
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experience. Good stuff. And thanks also for the tutorial. I constructed the wallet. Worked out quite well, although I had to sew the straps in because I ran out of rivets. And you're right - the keeper just stays where it is. It doesn't need to be attached. Again, thanks hugely.
I'm making this tomorrow thanks for the measurements
I love it so much, I need one!
I'm an amateur doing leather, it's a hobby for me like aviation (I'm a private pilot). I love your products they are elegant and nice looking. I'm looking forward to get to your level of expertise 😎. Lol. I learn a lot from you. Thank you so much. Beautiful products. God bless
I admire your hands you take real good care of them and your nails
Never thought to do that with the keepers. Nice, thank you.
Thanks for sharing your experience....
Lov the videos and tutorials!
Im going to make a vest, this would make a great pocket. Nice build, thanks for the info..

Thanks Eric, appreciate it.
My new favorite channel

Great video man thank you for the advice
Great advices, love your videos
great design and congrats on the milestone!
I've been wanting to mess with leather for a while and I've been watching this channel for a bit too. I really like these ones casually talking whether it's a tutorial about what you're making or whatever really. I've just been meaning to order leather to start, i don't really know what to get, but I'll figure it out. Nice little cool wallet.

We just made a video about how to dip your toes in a couple weeks ago, that should be a big help! It doesn't take much to give it a try, happy crafting :)
I love your job thanks for all ☺
Congrats 🎈the wallet is gorgeous
OLD LEATHER SMITH here, I like it Eric, simple and elegant at the same time, and your speaking helps a lot 4 those just starting out, GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃
Excelente proyecto, I like your tutorials, I’m only a beginner, Thank for your Tutorials 👍🏻
I'd buy that pattern! Excellent design.
I got my "big break" alongside of you back in Esquire's Best Men's Wallets of Spring 2013 feature. I felt like it was completely coincidental for me, so I was very curious to hear whether you had more inside info. I appreciate you being open and sharing more about your process Eric.
Very helpful! Thanks!
Love it. Made something like this before. But prefer this
It takes great skill and confidence to have an unrelated topic be discussed while creating a project. Kind of like singing while playing the guitar.

ooof, thank you! It was HARD.... And I messed it up...but that's why I attempted talking about stuff while making a sample haha. Thanks for the kind words :) We'll keep practicing to get better!
thank you, you inspired me for a gift to my grilfriend the same wallet but larger like a girly one it was my first leather crafting attempt :D
Late night Corter 🤗, let's go!!!
Came for the leather and got a Business lesson. Keep it up.
Congratulations 👏👏👏👏👍💗💗💗 Eric. I have always valued your craftsmanship and uf you look through your video posts you will see this. Its awesome that you are being featured and it hasn't changed you...much...lolol. j/k. Maybe one day, we can chat. I have been to Martha's vineyard a few times therefore passing through cape cod for the boat to oak bluffs. Cant do thst now but what i do is share your content with struggling leather artist that are getting started. 😎drea👍
Brilliant, you could also add a loop to the back so it attaches to a belt ?
Just received mine via grab bag sale; really cool this was the first design you made!
Как всегда хорошая работа!
Will you please release the template for this? Or more measurements so I can try to make it myself!
Thank you
And what do you do with your samples and test products? Would love to buy one.
Way to go bud.
I never found magazines to be the source of many orders. In the days when I was making motorcycle seats, I had my seats in just about every big motorcycle magazine - had celeb bike builder praising my work, and pretty much nada after that. When I had a big shop (making custom luggage) and word of mouth got out, I was busy 8 hours a day, 6 days a week and did no advertising beyond a Facebook page. Doing the shows was more trouble than it was worth, beyond getting my name out. I guess every market has a different method of selling that works for them.
Hey Corter, What glue/adhesive are you using?
wish I could get a pattern for this. ADD a couple loops or slots on the back; IMO, it would make a fantastic belt pouch. :D
Do you offer this model on your website with the copper D ring as I only see your 10th Anniversary Special Edition Ring Wallet?
When will you have more wallets available I need one and I wanna get yours it’s quality and to support a master craftsman
What kind of glue are you using? Thanks in advance
So how much did the GQ article affect orders? Have y’all gotten much feedback?
How do you deal with the possibility of thread taking wear as its being sewn?
Hi i'm looking the pattern, in your page can't find. Can you send the link? Thanks
Where can I find premium leathers? Does anyone know?
Hi. How I can buy that lovely piece? Best regards!
RIP Well Spent. Brad and team had a great platform.

They shut down at the end of last year - had a good long run though! It was a wonderful blog, and Brad (the creator) is a really great guy
Corter, How can i join your course in leather making.
Please we need measures for your designs with cantimeter
How about a video discussing how to price your products. I feel i make a very nice product but really only sale to facebook so i have to keep the price down to get more sales. I seem to average about $10 an hour and basically giving the materials away for free. I see basically the same product im making from other makers selling for twice what im asking. Is it just because im only using facebook friends and not advertising?
I have plotted this out in Autocad and can send over the file if you like Eric? Measurements: 4.5oz Leather Used 13.5 inches Total Length 34.3 cm 3.5 inches Main Width 8.9cm 7.25 inches Wide Part 18.4cm 4.5 inches Gusset Length 11.4cm .25 inches angle .62cm

It's a pair of gloving needles cause we work with leather...or fish hooks cause we live by the ocean....or some folks think it looks like other stuff! But mostly it's a "C" and an "L" tipped on their sides for Corter Leather ;)
I stitched two pieces of leather together for the first time last week. I wonder if that'd get featured somewhere lol
👍
Do you have women wallets for sale anywhere?
who's your dealer for leather
