How to Get Your Products in Magazines
It can be hard to get the word out about your products once you've produced them. In this video we talk about our experiences getting press over the years, and magazines featuring our leather goods. Getting your products in magazines is a lot less of a worry these days, but that press can still be a huge help if you combine it with your own social media and other advertising techniques that do not require money. You can also hire a publicist! This is a departure from our normal leather crafting videos, so let us know if you want us to share more!

This really speaks to me - for real. Our products never really got featured in any magazine, or in any features websites online. For almost 3 years nobody has invited us for an interview or even gave us an opportunity to tell our story. Given those challenges, I vowed to myself to bet on our handcrafted leather items and poured my heart and soul into it. And we are rewarded by now our followers in our social media platforms, in FB, IG and now in KZread. You sir, are truly an inspiration to me. You really motivate me in a lot of ways and I thank you for that.

The best info I gained from this video is that Weaver has a splitting service! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that offered on their site. Then the multiple weights from the same hide option....🤯🤯🤯. Thank you so much for sharing your talents. Your videos are fantastic.

Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experience. Good stuff. And thanks also for the tutorial. I constructed the wallet. Worked out quite well, although I had to sew the straps in because I ran out of rivets. And you're right - the keeper just stays where it is. It doesn't need to be attached. Again, thanks hugely.

I really like these ones casually talking whether it's a tutorial about what you're making or whatever really. I never found magazines to be the source of many orders. In the days when I was making motorcycle seats, I had my seats in just about every big motorcycle magazine - had celeb bike builder praising my work, and pretty much nada after that. When I had a big shop (making custom luggage) and word of mouth got out, I was busy 8 hours a day, 6 days a week and did no advertising beyond a Facebook page. Doing the shows was more trouble than it was worth, beyond getting my name out. I guess every market has a different method of selling that works for them.

How about a video discussing how to price your products. I feel i make a very nice product but really only sale to facebook so i have to keep the price down to get more sales. I seem to average about $10 an hour and basically giving the materials away for free. I see basically the same product im making from other makers selling for twice what im asking. Is it just because im only using facebook friends and not advertising?
