I have tried typing it in on xbox.com (the american one) and it still gives a 2 day code. I dont know if other regions work differently but it hasnt worked for me

They are just re-stocking codes, this has happened before

I just dont know what your not doing or doing wrong or why it isnt working

then you typed in the wrong code, if you get the code wrong you have to delete the profile and do it again on a new one
