I'm a fan cuz u stick wit the budget friendly gears, lots of creators when they're big they just forget the budget friendly segment.

I feel like I owe every single subscriber I have to you. I know there’s not many, but finding your channel was a game changer for me! Every time some asks a production question I just direct them to whichever video of yours I learned from. Thanks a lot for all the knowledge you’ve shared over the years 🙏
It's so easy to get caught up in needing the best gear. I picked up an a6400 last September, and the more I shoot with it and improve, the more limitless and capable the camera seems. There's so much more to good video than just the gear and that's learned through practice. Great video as always✌️

Totally agree! The a6400 is a beast!
My g9 recently took a dunk in a river so I needed a replacement, but realizing I mostly do landscape work and the occasional video I settled on the g85 and think I love it even more than the g9. Reason is now I have to force myself to double check focus and exposure which results in better shots than when I get in the 'ill fix it in post' mindset. Love that you've stuck with these budget focused videos!

I have a g85. I love it. it is amazing what you get for the price
Another tip for exposure: try to expose for what you can't control. So for example expose for the window, then set up your lights in the interior to match that outside exposure
The most challenging in you tuber life I think is audio and you just save the day great vid Nigel like always
A few months into my KZread 'journey' and these videos have been a massive help. Thank you dude :)
Good to see the videos coming! Great info vid! Thanks

Very great work ,compact and very easy to consume content keep up the good work!
Your videos are just an art bro!
Useful info for my Canon 70D. Bigup sir!
Nigel, you consistently demonstrate really great color, lighting and composition no matter how "limited" the camera equipment you've been using. I really dig your eye for color, contrast and composition. Makes me wonder if you went to film school or had similar training?
thank you mr barros
Cheers mate 👍
great video bro!
Thanks man!
Very helpful
The vibe of your videos really is very unique. I always feel "at home" and comfortable watching :) By the way: Would you chose the Lumix G9 or the GH5 as an upgrade from the G7?
@NigelBarros

Hey that means a lot to me thanks for that! I'd actually go for the g9, has useable AF for most situations and 10bit! plus its budget friendly!

@NigelBarros Does the G9 support 10bit HDMI out and can you get unlimited record time by using an HDMI recorder?
I felt like such a rookie recently after doing several shoots outside with my white balance set to tungsten.

wow.
Another thing to add to exposure is to find out where your camera is better at bringing down highlights rather than bringing up shadows. It might apply more to newer cameras.
@borderlands6606

The dynamic range of cameras is quoted in stops, and it's nearly all shadow detail. Overexposure latitude is still very limited, even on the latest cameras.
🔥
For inside audio, a small diaphragm condenser (SDC) microphone may be a better option.
cheap canon recover the highlights more than they recover the shadows , i noticed that with my old canon m50 , thanks for the tips though
In the Exposure part, would you rather say that ETTR is not that a good option for you?
Glad to be the 1000th LIKE
Any budget friendly shotgun mic recommendations like the Senal MS-77?
Just one question: How expensive do you consider budget?
As a general practice, just because it's 10 bit, it doesn't mean RAW and you can simply not care about white balance. WB is easily fixed in RAW, not necessarily 10 bit. Get it right in camera. Remember: if 8 bit is good enough for Hollywood, it's fine for the rest of us.
@NigelBarros

Totally agree,I simply meant that colors are typically easily to mess with when you have more bit depth and obviously a LOT easily when shooting raw. But yes 8-bit is still totally good enough for most of us and thats kinda the idea of this video, is to get it right in camera. Thanks for watching!
GH3 is a great Camera. Where did you find that halfcage? I would love to get one.
You can actually fix focus in post shooting with iPhone :D
Is that a cricket pitch you are walking up on at 4:20?
4:53 when I connect my g85 to my phone the screen is tiny. is there a way to get a bigger screen?
Where are you from? Come take a photo with me in Indonesia
