After the tigrex retreat, WALK to the nearest catravan and save, go to then den, if u dont get a good gene load the game

@@Simon18B yep. i did it last night. i made 3 saves just in case i messed up. also, once you get the rainbow egg (if thats what you're going for) you can save again in the village and save scum the 3 stats it gets.

Dont farm on this royal too much, you will find many tigrex not long after this area Also tigrex is really useful for farming royal gammoth

5:00 Yes, he DID do a double attack. Remember that when you and a monster counter an enemy's attack with a Double Attack, you take no backlash damage and it eats their attack that would have otherwise clashed with whomever they are going Head to Head with. The Power Attack at 4:53 is the Tigrex's second attack. The way to deal with this is through using Aptonoth's Riding Skill, since it causes a knockdown which negates the rage (which causes it to do double attacks) as well as cancels out that turn's double attack.

Thank you for introducing me to this amazing game! I have been loving the demo on switch. Enjoying the demo as cannot get the full version yet, but hopefully in a couple months

I got really lucky with my acquirement of Tigrex. I pretty much followed the advice given to me by the video. I was at least level 17 when I fought it the first few times, the third time was when I beat it the first time. When I noticed it drooling due to low health, I paintballed it right away, and it retreated after a turn or two. I even got a shiny light egg draw (where golden light shined while I was digging around). So I have this video to thank for my success. That and a lot of luck.

The game is adamant that traps do not work on it. Paintballs so far have not had any effect on it, even used a moment from the final blow. Very stubborn animal.

Shock Traps don't seem to work when he is enraged or at lease for me but i guess its because his Power move is jump attack however i have been using the Pitfall Trap on him very successfully.

There is a nice spot to farm tigrex by the Harzgai Hill-Inner catavan stop as well. It's down a little hallway with a chest at the end....which will show on your map provided you don't open it....serves as a good marker until then.

Thanks! That was actually really helpful, managed to beat it at lvl14 as well. Although I’m not sure why you suggest the bow? It’s the first MH game ever for me, but I’ve used the Gunlace which can also boost the defense, since as you rightly point out the most important thing is not getting knocked out in one turn.

Glad you made this! I mostly used it as a guide for the type of attacks Tigrex would use; it helped me plan and adjust my strategy knowing what attacks it favored. I tried to get it at level 14...got it to about 30% health, but it could OHKO everyone on the field (except for Arwin's monster, who could typically survive at least one hit). Decided to play the story a little more and came back at level 17. It was a difficult battle, but I thankfully got it to retreat the first time I beat it! I saw someone else had commented about saving before entering the den, and glad I took that advice, too (managed a diamond glowy egg my second attempt). Traps didn't work on it so I didn't bother after seeing them fail; same with trying to stun/sleep it using bow/arrows. In case anyone is looking for tips, the strat I used which worked (after getting to level 17) was: Used a defense buffing talisman/charm at the Prayer Pot before heading out, as well as equipping the best bottle-cap armor and an accessory to increase the chances of the monster retreating. The monstie I used in the fight was a Blue Yian-Kut Ku (also level 17). Used the Basarios horn to buff defense (taking advantage of that first free turn by getting it from behind), and often would have to stick to healing everyone while they all did the damage (especially when it got enraged) starting around midway through the fight. I did have to use a couple of those items to restore hearts to keep me in the fight (using up the only two I had), but it was worth it. Basically, I'd do damage where I could with the two-handed sword, but mostly I stuck with a support/healing role with a horn (I think I only triggered Ride once in the entire fight due to that).

Tigrex is definitely one of my old school favourite Monsters, definitely farming for that Rainbow egg of his now

Was not interested in this game at first but leave it to tag to make me want a game lol

One thing I have noticed. Kinship attacks and double attacks prevent a monster from attacking that turn. So you can cancel one of the multiple attacks coming from Tigrex that way.

I’ve just killed it for the first time after resetting for 2 hours and was lucky enough for it to retreat. Now the grind is on for a rainbow egg.

Did it have a ??? Health bar when you were fighting it and it retreated? Cos ive probly fought it 12 times now and beaten it 4 time and ive had to reset it each time cos it didnt retreat, my save lt 1 and 2 are both saves after beating it and my 3rd save is next to the catavan stand pre-fight.

I had very weak monsties for this fight. I beat it at lvl 14 aswell. What I did was use blue kut-ku blazeball for the burn, and pukei sword and shield for the poison and guard. And just kept my team healthy. When he was engaged I'd switch to monoblos since he's tankier if he was targeting me or my monstie though I switched to velocidrome instead to win head to head. It was hard not gonna lie. Atleast all it cost me was a few potions and life soot.

I was happy when tigrex retreats,then i followed him to his den,then i got a rainbow light tigrex first try! Thank you

If you could also put a brief description of like monster move types in normal and rage states and also the bonus conditions that'd be amazing

I found a tigrex egg in a monster den with a tigrex sleeping in it,it was on the Lamure Desert,Sadona Barrens. Hope it helps and you get lucky!😁

Also get the Monoblos royal very early. Tigrex is a great early speed monster but Monoblos is an amazing power type early on.

i know its a bit late but after you make monsters retreat you can run back to caravan stand and save if you didnt get rainbow egg reload and try again

Not going lie am playing the demo now and tho am not much of a story guy this game got me hooked.... I'm buy it for my switch.

Yeah agree... i just got the tigrex. Fighting it when im at lvl 17. He got quite a powerful skill one shot kill attack. My heart left 2 and alwin left 1 taking out this beast. Once he became my monstie, i notice hes normal attack is quite powerful even at lower level.

i did pretty good my first try, but~ since i didn't know how weak it was since it was my first time beating one: i didn't paintball it. next time though. I'm confident.

Tigrex is availible once you get to the Lamure desert fairly common in all den types

Decided to try this out because I read that Tigrex is an top-tier speed monstie. Only found out when I was at the stables that, due to where I got up to, I had already found two Tigrex eggs in dens already.

This monster kicked my ass like 5 times! (since I did it a little earlier) I did it with basarios hunting horn and basarios monstie alongside alwin and his monstie. I'm probably gonna try again because I didn't get a rare one. I didn't have the hearts, resources, nor balls to want to even wake it up 😅

The game looks fun 🤩 too bad I dont have a good enuff pc to play it on. But will watch you play it tho. 😁

you can get a Monoblos doing the same thing just trow 3 paintballs she is at Harazgai Rocky Hills if you want the Mammoth hes in snowy Area close to forest

Switch version is okay if u play mostly on handheld on 720p. The frame lag looks noticeable when u dock it and the switch need to make this mhs2 work at 1k p. The frame lag is noticeable more on dock.

I managed to beat the royal tigrex depite alwins best efforts (hes actually super helpful, his monstie got enough hp to tank some of its moves before mine) and he was a useful member for the entire story, moreso than ratha cause of that insane attack

I wish the buddies were optional, I feel like it would be easy to cheese it as soon as you come to Alcala if you just used Gunlance and Aptonoth

I love the demo. Game is not in budget right now. But hopefully soon..

Thank you for the guide! I got my tigrex and leveled it up. Problem is, he never uses lock on on its own, which means he keeps missing its heavy spear. Am I missing something?

I'm lvl 22, I have seen him sleeping 3-4 times and havent woken him yet. I'm about to!

Managed to take down both Royale Trigrex(5 tries) and also Monoblos(3 tries) and gotten their monstie forms, all that before even getting Ratha to join the team, lol

I’m so nervous to face this monster lol.

so need bit of help trying to take the thing on consistantly (4th try at it and im 1 and 3 in win/loss respectively team is narg, ratha, zamtrios, veloci, g.jaggi, and yian while working round the point when avinia is your pal curent equipment is a lvl 1 barioth gunlance, that spider's hamer and great sword with a lvl 2 ketcha watcha armor and to round it out a revival (s) talisman anything you or the coments recomend i try to find and change up to see if it works better?

All you need is pukei pukei for technical and nargacuga for speed and minimum level at 13, baumfäller to use guard and duramboros amor for best defense, these need to be maxed out and can be forged at Rutoh village and a adamant charm active to lower damage from tigrex rock throw and of course paintballs. If you have all of this then your golden!!

i beat this with alwin and trap locked it till it became enraged then tried to do double attacks wasnt consistent but it put him in his place to no turn tigrex to a degree making it easy just grind traps after you get the recipe from the feline easiest way and the best way to do so

@@SA1NT_GAMING yes pitfall traps for everytime he attempts to attack via up close tigrex will show that he will use a ranged attack so dont use a trap when that happens

i thought mons where kinship locked so even if u got him u could not use him till ur kin stones like lv5 or did they change that from mhs1

Also don’t forget if you break the head while it’s in an shock trap that greatly increase your chances for retreat

Got the tigrex at lvl17 with atk and hp +2 some decent gene, got him on my 2nd try, coz it didnt retreat in my 1st try i ddnt even have atk prayer just use pukei pukei poison and im with alwin not avinia.

Omg you weren't kidding about your NPC companion getting one shot. Took me 4 tries before I finally beat Tigrex cause my companions kept fainting!

Fun note! I found a tigrex once! My character got instakilled from its boulder and I noped out of there. Kinda regret tbh…

I think actual advice at low levels is: pick a god and pray. The major deciding factor for this fight is going to be whether the Tigrex will attack you or your partner, and stacking up kinship moves to cancel out the worst attacks when possible. It’s doable, but if you’re just playing casually and aren’t minmaxing the hell out of your team it will be difficult. I spent about half a day fighting it and most of that was losing or beating it but it not retreating lol. Basarios and a semi-beefed Ranmar saw me through in the end, and I finally got my egg.

Took me 3 hours to make this monster retreat at lvl 13 good lord

Nargacuga: helps him get a tigrex egg. Him: repays it by deleting it forever

How are using a companion after you leave the area

I am later in the game and I use the Tigrexs hammer

So i managed to beat Tigrex at level 13. But i was kinda lucky tbqh. I maxed out Basarios armor.

Remember how useful mine was in the first game, a powerful fire element build that hit with a very high average for damage. Though it was never as good as the sheer stupidity that was waterblight deviljho haha.

Lvl 14 with max lvl tetsucabra armour and still getting 1 shotted,only have 1 life powder to heal heart

i'm confused here, i got the royal tigrex and royal monobloss before i even got the nargacuga and i had elwin and shualk with me why is my game different? shaulks ice made retreat increase.

Question to the community. I managed to beat tigrex and I'm farming the eggs, but I can't find any rainbow eggs. The best I've been able to get are gold. Is it possible to get a rainbow egg from a royal monster?

@@KrashClone I try farming anja in demo and got gold never rainbow but I found the gene are quite good. I guess the rainbow only give chance for rainbow gene which much easier to get from rare den. But I could be wrong.
