    Karim Ayadi What Mooer pedal is it? The larger HB power plant is not fully isolated (just filtered, the HB power plant junior has superior isolation). You can get individual magnetic isolation adaptors from Diego, but they do limit the ampage supplied, which may not be enough for a power hungry digital Mooer! Hope this helped!

    I own a modded vintage Roger Mayer Classic Fuzz which had an indicator LED and AC input added to it. So far I use a daisy chain from a One Spot power supply for all my other pedals, which actually works well, and a separate (cheaper) one with a polarity reverse adapter for the fuzz. The fuzz is pretty noisy and I don't know if it's the vintage pedal itself, the added AC input jack or the cheap power supply. But with a power block like these, can I use a regular output and just keep using the adapter? because it didn't work in my daisy chain, it reverse the whole chain... Thanks and love your videos and the music, keep it coming! \m/

I don't use any floorboards but I want to use a compressor and distortion together without hum, and add a pitch shifter with half a dozen other pedals on at the same time. what must I do as far as powering them correctly? I have recently gotten into guitar pedals but have only a few as in 3 right now. I do not intend to use anymore I merely have an overdrive compressor and clean boost. I live in an apartment with dirty power so I bought a Furman power conditioner and it helps but I'd imagine with pedals the noise will be worse. Which of these products might help with all of this? I am on a budget but I also dont have enough pedals to justify making a pedal board. In short could I just plug one of these into my power conditioner and then does it come with the patch cables to connect your pedals right out of the box?

    Looking at building a small pedalboard, probably no more than 5 pedals and as a result I've had my eye on the T. rex fuel tank jr. The most similar one here seems to be the one with the 400mah 9/12 volt and 18 volt ports. Obviously these are designed for use with larger pedals, but would there be any issues/dangers of using those ports with regular boss sized pedals? Otherwise I'll probably stick to the T. rex jr as I saw the voodoo labs one only had 3 regular 9volt ports.

    I've been using four cheapo (but actually very good)power supplies on my pedalboard for a while now, one of which daisychains 5 pedals. I've found that although there is a little noise, it's not a major problem. In fact, the pedals themselves make more noise even when on their own power supply, and the daisy chain has actually worked better than a power supply on its own.

    Yeh I use a 6 way daisy chain too, it's ok for my marshall pedals, bluesbreaker 2, edward the compressor, regenerator....and my ditto, ehx #1 echo. But it doesn't quite have the power to run a ehx B9 organ pedal at the same time as 4 or 5 other pedals without the B9 being noisy, so I could do with a cheap alternative to the voodoo labs cos I can't afford £100+ for a power supply nor would I spend that even if I had the money, so I might have a look at the harley benton.

    Cool video! Any thoughts on rechargeable pedalboards like the Outlaw & BoxKing? Particularly curious how they handle multiple high current digital pedals (seeing as how the pedalboards are not isolated and I have a TC Helicon Play Acoustic, a Line 6 M5, and a DigiTech Trio+)...

    Rabea Massaad, how do you know which power-output to use? I currently use a Carl Martin ProPower V2, which has 8 outputs, 6 of which provide 150mA and the last two running 350mA. Which outputs would be ideal to use for stuff like TC's TonePrint series and MXR-pedals? I noticed in the video, that when you plugged the Dracarys into one of the higher-output outputs, it became noisier, so I'm just wondering if there's some kind of rule of thumb for what outputs to plug different pedals into?

    A friend of mine insisted me to buy a good power supply instead of a noise gate. Now I know the reason why my chain turned so noisy, using a chinese ac adapter with multiple pedal input adapters. Thanks Rabea!!! Pretty informative. GREETINGS from Chile !!

    I own both the CS7 and 12 and can power Strymon (mobius, timeline), Eventide H9, Roger Linn III, Line 6 M5, Roland Gr30, Zoom G3 &G3n, and many more like Boss, Disaster Area Designs, MusicomLab EFX ii, Digitech Jam Man Soloist XT, AMT SS-20, Egnater Goldsmith, Xotic Effects, DOD, Mooer, EHX, MXR, and the list goes on. I owned the digital from Voodoo Lab but my setup needed additional ma which the digital could not meet. You can't go wrong with the Truetone 1SPOT PRO CS7 and CS12.

    Silly question - I bought 2 v labs cables that have a barrel end and a 9v battery socket on the other end. To power up pedals that do not have a battery compartment etc. Both cables will not power up my boss st-2 & my zvex fuzz factory using brand new battery. No battery inside the pedal. What do u think. I will take them to a tech. It's just silly. :-)

    Thanks for this Rabea it's really helped as I'm struggling with this. Just bought a Donner ISO 8 but it doesn't serve up 22V for a Blackstar HT DistX. So now that's the only pedal on my board that's noisy and I think it's because I am using the stock power supply that came with it. Any suggestions for 22V AC?

    I don’t get anything like that daisy chaining in bypass…completely clean. Issue is when some are engaged and not playing, the noise floor is loud! On my amp I have an attenuator built in. If I dial by -9db and turn up it seems to suppress it. Even running things like an Angry Charlie into a Furman on its own 18v I get huge ground noise when on . For these issues…I wonder if I should be looking at a gate pedal Vs say a ISO power supply.

I made my own pedal board I never got much noise keeping supply underneath the diamond plate seems to suppress noise .Also at home I can plug my amp into a different circuit of power which helps with some feedback issues txs

    I'm running about 11 9v pedals one Wah which I don't know the voltage of yet because it's still on it's way to me and one 12v I think on it's way aswell does anyone have any suggestion for a power supply that can power all of these

  • @michaelangeloh.5383

    @michaelangeloh.5383

    OK, I'll try to help: What you have to do is not only look at the Voltages (though, if the wah you've ordered is a pretty common/regular one, it will likely simply need 9 Volts), but also at the current-draw, so the milliAmps it draws. It usually says on the pedal, either by the power-connector or on a label on the bottom. If not, there is usually a manual or spec-sheet. Anyway, you have to see what each connector on a power-supply can deliver in mA's, which is usually significant. The reason being that if you want to "stack" (or "daisychain") multiple pedals from a single output on the supply, you shouldn't exceed the current the one output can deliver, but that doesn't happen very easily. Depending on how much the pedals draw, you can usually connect 4-5 pedals to one output. Of course, if they're much more power-hungry then you might only be able to use 2-3 of them. Considering you'd likely have twelve 9V pedals, and one 12V pedal, you'll need a power supply that has at least one 12V-output, which counts out a few. From the Voodoo Labs ones, you can go with pretty much any of them, except the "AC"-version (which is for AC-current, obviously), and the "Digital" version is kind of senseless for your selection of pedals. The rest, even the "simplest" ISO5 could probably do the job, with the 9V-pedals all stuffed onto the first 3-4 outputs (again, depends on how much they draw), and then the one 12V on the 12V-output. Otherwise you could also go with the T-Rex Classic, which has EIGHT 9V outputs (though, possibly not isolated), and one 12V DC and one 12 AC in addition. - Or the T-Rex Chameleon, which has fewer outputs, with 5 that can even be switched between 9V and 12V, and one extra/optional output that is AC-current. But, these I believe ARE isolated from each other. - Also, the T-Rex ones are more affordable, though purely in pricing. Overall, it's as simple as adding up; Add up the current-draw, then see how many outputs you need (or want), and choose the appropriate one. Also mind the power-cables you might need, and mind the polarity of the pedals (power supplies and most pedals USUALLY have the center as the negative). - Hope this helps some people.

    Rabea, due to the limited number of outputs from these isolated power supplies, most of us still end up daisy chaining several pedals together. Even with your Mondo, don't you have to share some power outputs from it? I try to give the gain pedals their own power source and only daisy chain non-gain pedals (time, modulation, etc. pedals). Feedback, please. Thanks!
